Naruto was mad. Just who was this punk trying to choke Konohamaru? The reason for his anger was his irritation at not being able to sleep from past 2 months. He was cranky. He was mad. He was boiling in frustration and just wanted to vent it out on someone. For some reason, his body felt so sluggish and dead tired that he didn't even felt that he had energy to walk anymore. And looked like Kankuro chose to be Naruto's target.
Like how dare he even touch Konohamaru?! Kankuro didn't knew how much close he was treading to the line between life and death.
"L-let me go...." Konohamaru tried to speak, gasping for air. His vision was getting blurry and his neck felt constricted. His fingers felt numb and cold. His feet were dangling in air, his scarf, tight in Kankuro's grip.
"Konohamaru-chan...."
"Konohamaru-kun....''
Both Udon and Moegi called out in concern. Naruto who was getting impatient with Kankuro's unruly and wild behaviour called out to him rudely. "HEY!! You FAT PIG!!! Let him go or I'll make YOU pay! Fatass idiot!"
Was he angry? Yes!
Was he cranky? Yes!
Was he yelling like a drunk? Yes!
Was it affecting Kankuro? No!
Kankuro looked at Naruto with a condescending side glance as he smirked in arrogance, the purple face paint on his skin complimenting his sadistic arrogant grin. Sakura being the helpful teammate she was, instead of helping Naruto, locked his head in her arms choking him instead.

You idiot! What are you thinking? That big punk would obliterate both her and Naruto. If only Sasuke-kun or Kakashi-sensei was here, she would have felt a little better about her chances but instead, this guy was there with her. He was only making the situation worse.
"You're annoying...." Kankuro slowly drawled out, tightening his grip on Konohamaru slowly.
"Argh!"
"Basically I hate midgets, especially the younger ones that are rude....." His eye got a sharp glint. ".....makes me want to kill them." Sakura's eyes widened as in shock her hand automatically loosened from Naruto's neck at his callous remark. He wouldn't kill that child would he? That kid merely made a joking remark about her forehead...... but..... No! He wouldn't do that, would he?
The reason they were in this mess was because Konohamaru made fun of her forehead, so she ran towards the group of children to teach them a lesson when Konohamaru collided with these sand ninjas.
Naruto clenched his fist as he looked at Temari with pleading eyes to stop the guy beside her. Temari scoffed. "Oh well, I'm not involved." If anything, his fist got tighter and his eyes got a little narrowed.
