Chapter Eighteen

Of course, like all normal teams, we went out for a victory lunch-dinner. I called up Hannah and Scarlett to plan out meeting up with us at Olive Garden. It's one of the places I haven't been to since I moved to Texas and I have truly missed their bread sticks.

I have been whining about flesh-eating stomach the whole way there, so Coach also told us we could go to the Mall which is ironically right next to Olive Garden, just so I will stop nagging. I had been jumping all over Marcus too since he made his basket, and I have not stopped yakking off his ear about his skills.

We had a bumpy ride and I think the bus is starting to give me motion sickness, although, it's either that or I just really want bread sticks. I could never survive on a diet. I had tried and I barely lasted me a day.

When we arrived I almost pushed everyone out of my way, yet Coach yanked back on my collar with his sweaty palms and flashed me an annoyed eyeroll. "Why don't you wait here until your friends come?" He says and chuckles.

Snickers pass around my teammates and I huff out an okay with a puff face. "I'll wait with her." Ky says as he steps out of the bus beside me. Coach nods an okay and walks on inside the single story Olive Garden. I will ditch Hannah for those bread sticks if she takes too long.

I love my best friend dearly, but I currently might love Olive Garden bread sticks better. I took my seat on a nearby bench and Ky squatted down beside me. I couldn't help but to start smiling as I flashed back through our day.

"Proud of yourself much?" Ky chuckles and leans forward to put his elbows on his knees. "Pft, no." I say sarcastically. "Okay...but that swoosh though." I gawk to practically pat myself on my back.

I don't like braggers, and I hate bragging on myself, but hey, I just won a game for my team. Heck, the year they get me they win against someone they had lost to many times for years. I know that it wasn't only me, but my addition into the team work.

Ky rolls his eyes and takes his phone out as I simply do the same and silence files in around us. Not much more than five minutes had passed before Hannah pulls up with Luke Bryan blasting from the speakers of her silver 2014 Jeep Wrangler.

I jumped to my feet and sprinted to her door as she stepped out. Her curled, blonde, long bob bounced with every step she took. I squealed and opened my arms up with a smile. She screamed even louder than me and squealed in a high pitch. "Congratulations!"

I stepped back then a familiar blonde stepped out from behind the car. "Scarlett!" I screamed and jumped to her. She stumbled and I jumped back down, bumping into someone. "Ow." I hear Ky mumble behind me. Scarlett's eyes trailer from him and back to me.

I know exactly what is going on inside that disaster of a mind inside her head. I shake my head and practically scold her with my eyes. I plead that she won't say anything. "Scarlett." She stated and stuck her hand out for him to shake.

He looked at it nervously and back at me as I raise an eyebrow waiting for him to take her greeting. He finally grasps her hand and they shake as if they had just closed a business deal. "Ky." He says firmly. "Strong grip you got there." He adds and tugs his hand back.

"Indeed." She says and squints her eyes at him. I elbow her harshly in her side and she just grins at me. "Well, I'm up for some freaking pasta so let's go." Hannah said and took the lead. I looped my arm across Scarlett's shoulders as her long, straight, bleached blonde hair tickles my wrist.

I almost have to squat to reach her size, but she helps me oh-so-slightly by walking on her tip of her toes. She has never grown out of that habit and never will. She has been walking on the top of her toes since I first met her in fifth grade.
