Chapter Twenty
Ky's POV
"Wake the hell up, Ky, it's already eleven-thirty!" Olivia's screeching voice was the first thing I heard when I woke up. I jolted up, groaned, and got out of bed. I changed into some jeans and a white t-shirt that was a little tight.
Oh well, I'm too tired to change again.
I stalked downstairs to find Olivia in the kitchen. She was at the stove dancing to 'Sugar' by Maroon 5. I took a seat at the table and started to rub my eyes since I got in really late two nights ago. It's Tuesday morning and I slept all yesterday.
I haven't seen Nicole since I left the airport late Sunday night. All the memories of when I called her beautiful came flooding back like a splash of water to the face. I have never called Kate beautiful, only sexy and hot. Typical me, being my weirdest around Nicole.
Something about her makes me just blush. Wait, am I blushing? I felt my cheeks and they are running a bit hot against my hands. I run into the bathroom and check my cheeks and they have a hint of red and pink. Holy, I have never blushed before.
This feels weird. What if Olivia notices? I'll just play it off.
I go back to the kitchen and sit down like nothing happened. Olivia has been giving me these weird smirks whenever I bring up Nicole into a conversation, and her smirks are starting to creep me out.
"Hey Ky, pancakes or waffles?" She asked with a jump. "Both." I grumbled, still sleepy. She made both of us a plate and set them down on the table. She scooted the butter across the table. "Ky, don't make me pour water on your head." She threatened when I struggled to catch the butter.
I glared up at her with my drooping eyelids. "Hmph." I said and started to dig into my pancakes. "Maybe if you change the music then I will wake up." I said and smirked at her. "Touché." She said and plugged my phone into the dock.
She scrolled through my music until she decided on 'Good Day' by Nappy Root. I chuckled when the music surprisingly woke me up. Olivia danced her way back to her seat and hummed along while we ate. She started coughing on her food when she suddenly started choking.
She downed her whole water while I started to laugh. "Jerk." She muttered and sighed. "But, what I was about to say before I choked," she snapped, "is that Nicole is coming over." That's when I started choking on my own food, and she flashed me one of those new smirks of hers.
"Well cocky-Ky, I always knew that you were a tease, I just never thought you would be a two timer with Kate and Nicole." She said and crossed her arms across her chest as if she knew some big kind of secret.
I swallowed quickly and cleared my throat. "Olivia, don't take this the wrong way, but what kind of fucked up idea do you have in your brain." I snapped as I defended myself along with her thinking about hurting Nicole. She threw her hands up in surrender and chuckled.
"Ky Mcullen, what did I tell you about that type of language in this house!?" I heard my father's instructive voice come from behind me. I sighed and glared over at Olivia. "Oh, dad, what are you doing home early?" She said so innocently.
Ugh, pretending to be daddy's girl. "Olivia, Nicole and I are just teammates and friends." I said and scratched the back of my neck. My voice didn't sound very certain at my own answer. "Ha, friends that are very friendly." She said and wiggled her eyebrows at me.
"Olivia." Our dad snapped. "So Ky, is this the Nicole I know?" He said with the hint tug of a smile at the end of his lips. "Yes, but we aren't a thing!" I shouted at them, frustrated. Olivia went silent and sat back down as my dad looked down at the newspaper and the house grew quiet.
