It has been eight years since Hannah's wedding and then two miracles have come my way. First was Dallas, she is now six and almost seven, and second was Scott, who is now almost two.
It is almost December now and Travis wants to fly to California to go to Big Bear and take the kids to the snow so of course, Ky has dragged me along. We had a whole polemic about it so now here I am, writing in a stupid journal that I had found back from high school.
I set down my pencil and sighed. I need to be reviewing a case, not flipping through the past. Suddenly, a knock at the door made me jump and drop the journal. Ky stepped through my office door with cautious eyes as though I am going to throw something at him.
He brought his hands out from behind his back and held a bag of peanut butter M&Ms. "I'm sorry?" He held them up next to his face as he gave me a pouting face. I snorted and shook my head. "Ky..." I mumbled and sighed once again.
He looked down at my lap suddenly and his lips spread into a grin. "Is that a diary?" He questioned and set the bag down on a shelf as he stalked up to me. I held the journal in my chest and shot to my feet.
"No." I pointed a finger at him but that didn't stop him from stalking closer and closer until he was centimeters from me. "Ky." I scolded him but his eyes begged for play. "Nicole." He shot back.
His blues froze my feet in place as I took a glace at his bright blonde hair that is normally buzz-cut, but is now grown out so that it flops to all sides as his curls begin to come back.
He abruptly latched his fingers around the top of my journals but I held on tight. His lips pulled back into a smirk. "You are going to put up a fight now then?" He asked with a cheery tone. "Always do." I whispered back.
We began wrestling for the journal but never hurt each other. I finally got behind him then decided to jump on his back but I was obviously a bad move because I slipped off, but as Ky turned around, we both fell to the ground.
I had fallen on top of him as the journal slid across the floor, underneath a cabinet. I pushed myself up but his hands trapped me back down as he rolled us over so that he's now towering over me.
"I like it better this way." He whispered and leaned down so that our foreheads touched. "Me too." I muttered back and wrapped my arms around his neck as I leaned up, connecting our lips. Oh, what his kiss still does to me.
I ran my hand through his hair as he brushed his down my shirt. "Ahem." A voice coughed by the door causing us to jump apart like teenagers being caught in the bathroom. "Collin!" I shouted and chuckled nervously.
My partner, Collin, put a hand over his heart pretending to be hurt. "You have betrayed me Sullivan, I thought we had something special." He joked simply poking at the bear who has his arms around me.
"You may work with my wife Agent Yater, but I have no problem punching you in the face." Ky growled from behind me. I de-linked his arms from around me and rolled my eyes.
"You do know that Collin is gay, right?" I squinted mean eyes at Ky who is currently doing the same to the other male. "He could be both." Ky snarled as he joined my side and we walked downstairs behind Collin.
"Hey, wannabe!" Ky demanded Collin's attention and when he finally looked back, Ky put his arm around me. "She is a McCullen." He stated and I leaned into him. He still has the same strong body that he had back in high school, but now, it's even stronger.
"Dude, I have been her partner for like seven years now, I went to your wedding, I know." Collin said, rolling his eyes at Ky. "Ugh, your guys's relationship is like a teenage girl on her period." I mumbled as I went to the counter to grab my case.
