'Blame it On Me' by George Ezra

Chapter Twenty Four

School. Oh, how I dread the word. It's August twentieth and school starts in four days. The only time I have seen Ky at all was on registration day. He was doing the same exact thing he did before which began with staring at me like he was trying to apologize with his eyes then he would grow frustrated and only give me glimpses of anger.

I mean, if he is sorry, then why doesn't he just say something, anything? Sam approached me on registration day and Ky stormed off as a big ball of fury. I tried to ignore Ky's attitude, but if there is truly something treacherous to Sam, then I will keep him at an arms length at all times.

I understand they may have their problems, but if Sam barely knows what happened between them as he claims it is something minor, then why is Ky causing such a big ruckus? Hannah told me it is because she believes he is jealous, and the more she talks about it, the more I start to believe it.

Ky does seem to twitch whenever there is another guy in close proximity to me or simply when one is talking to me. Olivia told me that a few times Ky had come home beaten up and that she believes he is beginning to get back into fights.

The only word that my ear rang into my head was the word back. I guess he has been doing this before. I just hope it isn't because of me. He couldn't be that angry. But wondered on he side, what type of fighting is he getting into? Are they street fights?

Once again, I came to Hannah for advice, and she had said once again that it was because of his pent up anger that he feels he could never take out on me. I love her for blaming it all on him. As much as I tried to hang onto my parent's legs, they forced me into school.

I started swim off as my zero period and the bus drove me and my team together back to the school where we had parked our cars. Sam nudged my side with his elbow. "You excited?" He said with a blush and a smile. I scoffed and shook my head.

"For which part, school or Ky? Because in that case... school since I shall be ignoring Ky." I said and put my nose up into the air. "Oh, well-the guy gives me death glares, so I guess he scares me more." Sam said and looked down.

I chuckled and patted his arm. "You'll be with me so don't go peeing your pants every time he glares at you." I said with a grin. The rest of the ride was mainly quiet. I put in some headphones and began to just listen to some Imagine Dragons.

But when I got to school, I was forced to take them out by some passing teacher. I threw my books into my locker and grabbed my science book which was my first period. Suddenly a few whispers caught my attention and I dragged my head out of my locker.

I look up to see the oh-so magnificent Ky strutting down the hallway. But this time, instead of girls commenting on how hot he was, it was about the nice, new shiny bruise along his jawline. So... that's what Olivia meant.

Speaking of Olivia, shortly after Ky walks past me without any little glances, Olivia comes scurrying up to me. "You saw what happened to him right!" She whispered a scream at me. "Hard to miss." I said on my breath, still staring after him in astonishment.

Jackson come strolling behind her and smiles at me. "Look, I may be pissed at him, but I'm worried." She said with complete concern in her voice. "He'll be fine. The guy can handle himself." Jackson said, just blowing it off, and I felt myself step back from the couple.

I raised an eyebrow at him and Olivia shoved him lightly. "I understand you hate the guy's guts, but if you cared about me, you'd..." She trailed off and searched for the rights words to say in the back of her mind.
