Chapter Twenty Five

"Let loose Nicole." Hannah told me over the phone. "You need to get in there!" She shouted when I stayed quiet. I looked up at the house with thundering lights and raging music flowing in and out. I then shook my head and tightened the grip on the steering wheel.

I glanced around at the kids parking anywhere on the grass since Kailee's parents own hundreds of acres. "I think this is a bad idea." I said and looked down at my outfit. That makes this an even worse idea.

I simply decided on a pair of black shorts and my Sublime crop top. I couldn't refuse the band tank tops. Plus, instead of going with Hannah's idea of flats, I agreed with my black Vans. "That's because your outfit choice was a bad idea." She snapped.

"Well I don't rock every single outfit like you!" I snapped back. We weren't being mean to one another, but we were having a friendly argument that didn't cause any harm. My truck lights clicked off and I sank deeper into my truck's seats.

"Nicole, you should have gone with that pretty white and black diamond tank top you have! It would have gone fine with those jean short shorts you have." She said with a hint of diva in her tone. I sighed and internally rolled my eyes.

"I know, but that outfit just doesn't scream me and it screams touch my body and eye rape me." I defended my body. "Which what we want Ky to do. Just don't drink, that is my number one rule." She said and I could hear the smirk through her tone.

"This isn't my scene, Han." I said with my nerves beginning to chew down my nails. "Of course it is. Everybody knows that you were the one who is always dancing at a party. I remember in eighth grade, out on that boat in Washington D.C, you-."

"Of course I remember that! I was making a fool of myself!" I blushed just remember how embarrassing the memory was. "Sam is waiting for a kiss on the lips and Ky is awaiting bubbling jealousy. You can do this." She said, boosting my confidence.

"I just wish you were here." I mumbled on my breath. "I am because you are twenty-four-seven thinking of this sexiness." She said making me laugh. "I love you, and this will work." She said and I returned the love.

When she hung up the phone, I sat in the driver's seat for about a minute or two more before I built up the courage and stomped my way up to the three story house. Sam was leaning against the pillar on the porch, and when he spotted me his frown flipped into a smile.

"Never thought you were going to show." He said and I did a theatrical gasp. "You thought I was a flake?" I said and put a hurtful hand over my heart. He chuckled and stuck his hand out for me to take. He was wearing a plain grey t-shirt and some black pants.

He had some nice grey vans with a red stripe that he got custom made for himself. I felt myself bubble with jealously every time I saw his masterful shoes. "Shall we do this?" He asked like a gentleman. I blushed and took his hand. "Screw it." I said and tugged him inside.

My eyes cringed at the loud beat drumming into my ears. 'Nice For What' by Drake flowed through the speakers and I felt my foot automatically tap to the bass since my body was practically already dragging itself to dance in a corner without any embarrassment.

Hannah was right about how dang hot it is in here. The constant grinding bodies and compacted capacity made me want to puke. I am not claustrophobic, but I am sensitive to the touch of people I don't know and don't like, especially drunk people having their hands all near me.

"Nicole!" Olivia squealed making me cringe once again. She looked at Sam with uncertainty then back to me. "This is a huge surprise!" She said and clapped her hands. "Last year in high school, so I thought-why not experience this..." I trailed off unsure how to describe this party.
