Hacketts Quarry Summer Camp. A place where children can learn about the wilderness. See animals, learn more about nature and to get away from the real world. Kinda like a vacation. Little bit. Chris Hackett had to go through many applications to find camp counselors. He did and decided to organize an orientation meeting before the kids showed up.

One of those counselors was Hazel.  She loves to explore new places and sight see. She was still trying to figure out what she would like to do as a full-on career.

Now here she was. Heading to Hacketts Quarry Summer Camp. She was super excited to meet the campers and her new co-workers for the next two whole months.

Hazel took a cab to the place since it was pretty far from home. And it was free since Mr. Hackett offered.

The car slowly pulls up to the big lodge and Hazel could see it. It was beautiful and couldn't help but take a photo of it. Might as well make memories.

She got out of the car and grabbed her bags heading inside the lodge. She could see other people there, looked like the other counselors. Mr. Hackett saw Hazel and walked over to her.

"You must be Hazel. I'm Chris Hackett. Your boss but the fun one. First thing I need is your phone. We are not allowed to have any technology since we will be focused on the kids and need no interruptions."

Hazel smiled and hands him her phone. "No worries. I already knew that. But it is recommended so that we don't have any distractions."

Mr. Hackett couldn't help but chuckle. "I like you Hazel." He had a clipboard with the rest of the camp counselors name on it.

"Here is your schedule and it also has a packet with everyone else's role. This is what the kids will get as well. Welcome to Hacketts Quarry."

Hazel nods with a smile and looked at the paper he gave her.

Hazel: Archery Tutor

Not too bad. Hazel had her normal role which was doing archery which was no problem because Hazel was very talented. Especially in sports. Being the teacher for archery class is special.

Hazel stood there waiting for everyone else and saw more people walking in. One was a boy. He was super tall. Mr. Hackett spoke to him and hands him a packet as well.

"Hey!" One of the counselors made Hazel jump a little but smiled.

"Hi. Sorry I didn't see you there."

"Its all good. I scare the cute people away but you know I can comfort them. Dylan. Don't worry I am not trying to hook up with you. I'm more into guys."

Hazel chuckled softly. "I get it. I'm Hazel."

"Nice name. Hazel like the color. Adorable."

Mr. Hackett whistled to get everyone's attention. "Everyone I want to say congratulations on being a camp counselor to Hacketts Quarry Summer Camp. Now I handed each of you guys a packet that should tell you the schedule for the next two months. Some of you have extra roles because we had two people who couldn't make it. Also no cell phones either. No distractions."

A few people groan in disappointment which made Hazel snicker a little. The boy earlier looked over seeing her smile and he couldn't help but stare at her.

She looked beautiful. Pretty. Her long brown hair.

A guy next to him nudged him. "A summer crush already Junior?"

"Don't be ridiculous Jacob." He brushed it off.

"Nick, I've seen that look before and that is you developing a crush." Jacob pats his shoulder. "You should go for it. We have two whole months here."

Nick thought about it. Maybe he could get to know her. He didn't want to rush into anything, just want know who she is.

He slowly walked over to Hazel and smiled. "Hey. I'm Nick."

Hazel smiled at the boy. "Hazel. Nice accent."

"Oh thanks. Its my New York charm. I'm joking born in Australia."

"Well. I can sense a little New York in you." She joked.

Both of them laughing until they stood there. "Shall we get ready for the rascals?"

He offered her his hand and she took it.

"Yeah. I think this will be fun."
