Emma Watson Oneshots Book Four

College

(Y/n) POV:

"I don't want you to leave yet! Why can't you take a gap year and stay at home?" I told Charlotte while giving her a hug. She was going off to college today and we had just finished getting her settled in. "I'll be home for Christmas!" She exclaimed. "That's too far away!" I continued. Charlotte just gave me another hug.

Emma was just about to finish making Charlottes bed and I sat on it. The bed cover came off and all the sheets got jumbled up. "(Y/n)!" Emma scolded. "Oops, sorry. Guess we have to stay a little longer and fix it!" I apologized. Emma gave me a look and I just shrugged my shoulders. "You did that on purpose!" Charlotte claimed. "We can call security on him. They'll escort him out." Emma joked to our daughter while giving her a hug.

Eventually she needed to go to freshman orientation and we had to leave. Emma said her goodbyes first and then it was my turn.

"I'm gonna miss you." I mumbled to her while giving her a hug. "I'm gonna miss you too dad." She whispered back. "You are going to do great. Make sure to study hard and have fun. And make friends. That's important. Call us if you need anything. Or if it's really bad just call me and we can hide it from your mother." I advised her. "I will, don't worry." She assured me.

"Alright, I really have to go now." Charlotte told us and we gave her one last hug. "We love you and we'll see you for Christmas. Call us later." I told my daughter before separating.

Charlotte ran off with her roommate to go to orientation and Emma and I left campus. "What do we do now? Both kids are gone." Emma asked. "I dunno." I shrugged. "We should spend the night with her, just to make sure she's settled in." I decided and went to turn around before Emma pulled me away.

"I know you're going to miss her but you need to let her go." Emma told me. "But she's my baby! And now she's in college! Why can't she stay little forever?" I cried. "Because that's not how it works. She's eighteen now and this will be a good experience for her. We can go look at photo albums once we get back home. For now we have to get on our flight." Emma shared.

Even though Charlotte was in college and probably at a party right now, she will always be my baby.
