Parting Ways

(Y/n) POV:

Emma, Michael and I were having a movie night in the living room. Michael had us watch the first Harry Potter movie. Emma thinks he's still way too young for it so she's got the remote next to her to skip the parts that'll scare him.

Our movie night was interrupted when someone ran our doorbell. "I'll go see who it is." I announced and got up. "Flo?" I asked once I saw a teary eyed Flo standing at the door. "What happened?" I asked and gave her a hug. "Zach and I broke up." She mumbled. "Come inside. I'll make you some tea." I told her and had her sit on the couch.

Emma was going to take Michael up to bed since it was his bedtime by now but Florence stopped her and took Michael. While I made her tea Flo was cuddling with Michael. He was pretty confused on why we suddenly stopped the movie and now auntie Flo was sad and cuddling with him. He just gave Flo a hug and sat with her while telling her about Spider-Man. "And he has webs that shoot from his hands!" Michael told her. "Yeah!" Flo nodded while sniffling.

Michael fell asleep after a few minutes because he was very tired from our day. I gave Flo her tea and Emma tried to take Michael again but was stopped by Flo. "I want to cuddle with him." Flo told her and Emma nodded. "Okay. If it makes you feel better then go ahead." She said.

Flo drank her tea and I sat down next to her. "So what happened?" I asked. "It just wasn't going to work. I'm too busy with all of these new projects and he wants to settle down." Flo explained. "I'm sorry." I mumbled. "Don't be. Should've listened to you in the beginning." She grumbled. "I get why you didn't. You were happy with him. Probably didn't want to hear anything bad about your relationship." I told her.

"I feel sad but I also think this is what's best for us." Flo explained. "That's normal." I told her. "Says you, you've dated the same girl your whole life. You don't know breakups." Flo argued. "Hey, I did pretty good. I mean have you seen my wife? I scored, I got the best girl. And I have a pretty cute kid." I defended. "Yeah, Michael is pretty cute." Flo agreed while hugging the sleeping boy in her arms tighter.

"Don't stress about this okay? If this is what's best for you two than don't worry about the outcome. You both talked through it and found a healthy way to part." I told her.  "Thanks. You're a good big brother." Flo shared.

"I would hope so. I'm the best big brother." I boasted. "Better then Oliver?" Flo asked jokingly. "Oh yeah." I nodded. "Oliver's great but I'm better." I told her. "Sure you are." She mumbled.

While Flo and I joked around Emma scooped Michael up and finally put him to bed. When she came back down we all had some tea and just talked. I think we definitely helped Flo feel better about her breakup.
