Michael POV:

I was sitting in my room at my desk doing some homework. I had to do my biology homework and then my French homework. I was almost done with my biology work when my phone rang. I checked who it was and saw it was Sadie so I answered it.

"Hey!" I exclaimed when I answered the phone. Her energy did not match mine and I could tell she was very upset. "What's wrong?" I asked and I heard sniffling from the other side of the phone. "Can I come over? Sophie and I had a fight and I can't go back to the apartment. Not yet at least." She pleaded. Sophie was her roommate, who I had mixed thoughts on. She was nice but I don't think she liked me. "Yeah. You can come over. I'm sure mum and dad will let you stay." I assured her. "Do you need me to pick you up?" I offered. "No, I have my car." She answered. We said our goodbyes and I hung up the phone.

"Mum, can Sadie come over tonight?" I asked mum. "You know the rule, no sleepovers on school nights." Mum told me without looking up from her papers. "Yeah but Sadie can't go to her apartment and she needs somewhere to stay for the night." I explained. "I would say yes, but you're behind on your biology work. You need to get it done before you have people over." Mum insisted. "But I already finished it! And she has nowhere to go!" I protested. "Em, just let her come over. You know how Michael is with his schoolwork, we know he doesn't like to be behind. I'm sure his work is done if he says it is." Dad said, being the voice of reason. "Fine. Just this once." Mum sighed.

I nodded and went back upstairs. I rustled through my closet to find all of my comfy pillows and I took out some snacks from my secret drawer. Once I set up all of it on my bed I finished my French homework. As soon as I finished it the doorbell rang and I ran to answer it.

"Hey." I told Sadie and gave her a hug. She hugged me back and we just stood there for a second to hug. "Come on, let's go upstairs." I whispered to her and she nodded.

When we got to my room I had her sit on the bed and get nice and cozy. Once she was all settled I started asking questions. "So, what happened?" I asked her while we were sitting in bed and eating snacks. "It's kinda complicated. She's been acting distant for a few weeks now so I was just giving her space and then she got all mad at me for not talking to her. And then we kinda made up and she had me take a picture of something on her phone for her. When I was taking the picture she got a text and asked me to read what it said and reply. Turns out there was a text chain of her talking shit about me and how I always prioritize you over her and that I was being shitty and how you were a terrible person for stealing me away from her. Then she got mad when I saw the texts but also was the one who asked me to respond on the text chain. The text I responded to wasn't about us but I still saw the messages without having to scroll. " Sadie explained. Damn. That's a lot.

"But you don't? You and Sophie hang out all the time. It's not just you and me. I don't see you everyday. She does." I told her and she nodded. "That's what I told her!" Sadie agreed.

"It's like she can't be happy for me." Sadie expressed. "I'm sure it's not that. Maybe she's feeling a bit left out or excluded. I don't like the whole me stealing you away part cause that's just not true and we've been together for a few years so I don't know where this is coming from. But I know you think you spend plenty of time with her, I just think she might feel like you are putting her last. I'm not saying that any of this is your fault, cause I know you try to spend time with people equally and don't want anyone left out, so maybe just explain how you feel and ask how you can fix this." I advised her. "How do you always know what to say and how to fix things?" Sadie asked. "I'm just wise." I shrugged. "You always come to the rescue." She said and then just lied down and buried herself in the blankets.

I turned on my Tv and watched some of Dr. Who with Sadie. I don't think she was really paying attention though, she was on her phone. We did take a few selfies just for fun. I also think I caught her taking a few pictures while she thought I wasn't paying attention.

When I checked instagram a few minutes later I saw one of the pictures we had taken before. It was a goofy selfie of us and there was a heart emoji on the side. There was also a tiny caption below it that said 'my goofball'

I think she definitely posted this with the intention of Sophie seeing it. "Did you post this so she would see it?" I asked her and laughed. "No! I would never." She gasped in a joking tone. "I just simply wanted to show my love for you." She added. "You so posted that so she would see it. Bold move I must say." I nodded and went back to watching my show. Eventually we both got pretty tired and went to bed, especially since I had school the next morning.

(Y/n) POV:

"Go check on them, make sure they're okay." Emma told me, referring to Michael and Sadie. "Why me?" I asked. She didn't respond and just gave me a kiss. "Fine." I grumbled and walked upstairs to Michael's room.

I quietly opened the door and saw the lights off. Michael and Sadie looked like they're asleep but I wasn't sure. I'm just going to assume they were.

"They're asleep." I told Emma and sat back down next to her. Emma smiled at me and cuddled into my side. I wrapped my arms around her and focused back on the movie, spending some quality time with my lovely wife.

"I love you." I heard Emma mumble. "Love you too." I told her and gave her a kiss. I love nights like these where they are peaceful and calm. And cuddling with Emma makes it much better.
