(Y/n) POV:

Tonight is Michael's and Charlotte's spring sport banquet. Their school put a whole dinner and award ceremony together for all of the student athletes who participated in three spots. Michael had done baseball and Charlotte did girls field hockey. We all were going to the banquet to support them tonight.

"Welcome in everyone!" The athletic director told us and walked us inside. There was a table full of food for everyone and a bunch of tables set up for teams and parents. In front of all the tables was a projector that had a bunch of sports photos on slideshow.

Michael sat down with his teammates and Charlotte found her teammates. We sat with the other parents and had some of the food provided to us. It was actually good food though. I liked the pizza they gave out. I know Emma didn't love it but I certainly did. And so did Michael, he had like five pieces, I saw him keep getting up for more.

"Welcome in everyone, we are going to start the awards ceremony in about ten minutes." The athletics guy told everyone. People trickled in but I think most people were here already. Nearly fifteen minutes went by and Emma and I watched the slideshow while talking to other parents.

The awards ceremony started shortly after and they started with track and field. The coaches, one of which I knew as Michael's PE teacher, came up to talk about the team and give out awards. Everyone got a certificate but there were three actual awards on plaques. I didn't know any of the kids who got awards so I didn't really pay attention to them.

"Next up, girls field hockey, coaches please come up to present the awards." The athletic guy called out and Charlottes coaches stood up.

"Our first award goes to the most dedicated and hardworking player. This player always came to practices and matches with a smile, always asked for ways she could improve and things to reflect on, encouraged her teammates on and off the field, and never gave up on the team as a whole. It is my honor to award the Coaches award to Charlotte Watson-(L/n)." The coach spoke and when she was finished Charlotte walked up. I cheered and clapped for Charlotte as loud as I could, and so did Michael.

When Charlotte sat back down they went onto the next person and then so on. I also stopped paying attention after that since Charlotte already won.

"Next up, boys baseball." The school's athletic director called out. Michael's coaches came up and got out a piece of paper. They started with the coaches award again and Michael didn't win that one.

"Our MVP award goes to the player who we couldn't have been a team without. He has been on the team all four years of high school and is set to continue on playing in college. I have never seen anyone quite like this player in all of my coaching years. This player has encouraged and helped his teammates in whatever they needed and has taken time after every game to reflect and ask what he could work on next practice. He truly deserved the title of team captain in the beginning of this season and lived up to the values and goals that captains have throughout our season. He has hit the most home runs this season and always did a dance before hitting home plate, and led our team to victory in the state finals. With great honor and pride, I award this years MVP award to Michael Watson-(L/n). I wish you the best of luck next year in college and hope to see you one day playing in the majors." Michael's coach said and everyone clapped at the end.

Michael walked up and took the plaque from his coach before giving him a hug. His coach eagerly hugged him back and gave him a pat on the back when they stopped hugging. Michael walked back to his table with his award before they started with the next one.

Since both of the children's sports were done with awards I went up to the food table to have some desserts. I grabbed a cookie and a brownie before returning to the parent table while coaches were talking about different players on the boys volleyball team.

When the awards ceremony was over it was time to go. There was an area for pictures and Emma wanted photos with Michael and Charlotte so we did those. We waited in line for some photos and eventually got ours taken with everyone's awards.

"I'm so proud of you guys!" Emma told the kids while giving them hugs. I hugged Charlotte while Emma hugged Michael and then we switched. We got a few pictures of Michael and Charlotte with their coaches before leaving and going back home.

When we got back everyone was full from the food at the banquet so nobody wanted anything to eat. Michael went up to his room, going to call Sadie or play video games I assume, and Charlotte sat down to watch some Tv.

I sat down to watch Tv with Charlotte before falling asleep. Charlotte seemed to be more awake than I was. I fell asleep halfway through our Tv episode. But tonight was pretty fun, I definitely enjoyed our time at the banquet.
