Charlotte

I had finally figured it out. What I was going to do to finally be free of Laura. For good. My first step being putting the house up for sell. I had spoken to a realtor last week to start the process. I had spent majority of this past weekend packing some things and moving them into storage. I figured since Rosalynn has already proposed living with her once this is over, I should get started on that process. Besides, I wont be needing the place one I start college this fall.

My plan is actually quite simple. Extremely simple I suppose. I wonder why it took me so long to piece it together when the solution to my problem has clearly been right in front of me all this time. Give her what she wants. Thats it. Thats the plan. Whatever that may be. I know she just wants all of the money that was left for me. So if that's what it takes to finally be rid of her for good then she can have every penny in that account. I went to that place again the other day. Full of junkies and addicts. I told one of them to give Laura a message for me. That we needed to talk and figure this shit out. So hopefully he wasn't too high to forget to deliver my message should they see her soon. Maybe I'm taking the easy way out. By just giving in to her and not fighting it but really whats the point? It will always be a losing battle with her. I just want my life back. However I have a feeling Ros won't like this plan very much. I know she would rather call the cops and let them deal with her. I just don't see things working out that way.

"I'll send her down. Charlotte." I looked up to see my history teacher hanging up the school phone. "You're needed at the front office." Nodding, I collected my things and made my way out of the room. Walking down the halls I try to think of what they could possibly need me for. I know I haven't done anything. The bell sounds above me and students begin to fill the halls headed to lunch. I rounded the corner and saw my principal standing there talking to someone. As I approach him the second person comes into view. My eyes widened and I dropped my book causing them to quickly turn towards me. There stood Laura with the most devious smile plastered on her face. "Oh, here she is." My principal said as I bent down to pickup my book. "I was just speaking with your aunt about you." My heart rate is skyrocketing at this point and I have no idea what's about to happen.

"Well, I'll leave you all to it. Nice to meet you Laura." He said reaching out to shake her hand. "Likewise." As he walked away her eyes zoned in on me. "Well dont just stand there like a deer in headlights. I heard you were looking for me sweetie." I almost threw up at that name. I tossed my book to the ground, kicking it close to the wall as I grabbed her arm and walked us closer to the front entrance of the school. Out of earshot of the other students. She shook out of my grasp. "Why Laura. Why would you show up at my school?" She rolled her eyes. "Look. You keep running around looking for me. So here I am. Now what the hell do you want." She is so unbelievable. "I think we should talk." "Oh yeah? What about exactly? Could it be the fact that you have cops looking for me? People poking there nose in my business and what not." I sighed, folding my arms. "I think you know what already. Besides if you really cared about the cops looking for you, you wouldn't have come here. We need to come to some common ground. Look, we cant have this conversation here. Just come by— At that moment my stomach dropped to the floor. Just my fucking luck. I see Rosalynn walking out of the cafeteria. Her head is down as she's looking at her phone. My eyes are burning holes into her now. Praying she'll look up in time and for heavens sake stop walking this way. Finally she looked up and saw me. A smile appeared on her face but was soon followed by a look of confusion. "Hello!! Did you hear what I just said? What the hell are you looking at?" She tried to turn but I quickly grabbed her shoulders. "Nothing. It was nothing." "Hey! Touch me again and I'll break your hands right here." She turned around and her eyes met Rosalynns'. She quickly looked back at me. Then to Ros. Then back at me. I could practically see the wheels spinning in her head.

I.
Am.
Fucked.

"No fucking way." She scoffed, turning to look at me. "I know you're stupid, but that bitch has to be the fucking dumbest." All to quickly She turned and walked towards Rosalynn. It didn't help that she was still standing there clearly just as surprised as I had been moments ago. "Laura please. Please dont do this here." She held her hand up. "Now isnt this a funny encounter. Now remind me. Where have I seen you before?" Laura taunted her. I looked to Rosalynn mentally begging her not to engage with Laura. I could see Rosalynns' hand balling into a fist, and I know how she feels about this entire situation. I'm praying she doesn't act on her feelings here. I honestly wish the floor would open up and swallow me whole so I don't have to be in this situation any longer.

"Do you work here? Because I know I've seen you in my home with less clothes on than you're wearing now. Now that has got to be against some law don't you think?" "That isn't your house for starters." Rosalynn spoke. Oh God. Laura laughed. "Now how would you know that?" "Ohh, I know a lot of things. Plenty actually." Ros said. I turned my attention towards her. "Don't. Please. Please just walk away." Laura looked at me again. "Where's that principal of yours? Since we all know so much around here, let's see what he finds the most interesting." Rosalynns' eyes went buck but she quickly regained control over her facial expression. That bothered her for sure, but she's trying not to let Laura see that. "Stop it!" I yelled a little louder than I intended. I looked around before speaking again. "Please just tell me what you want. I'll do anything."

"Ohh don't beg her Charlotte. She's bluffing." "Oh yeah? You wanna fucking bet?" Laura turned on her heels and began walking away. I glared at Ros before walking after her. "You don't need to do this Laura just tell me what you want." She stood there. "You know I could end her career right now. She has a smart fucking mouth." I sighed. "You know what. Let's have that chat. I'll swing by the house this weekend. Bring your girlfriend along so we can all get reacquainted." She turned from me and walked to the front entrance. I went back and stood next to Rosalynn, hoping to watch her leave. She stopped and looked back at us. "It was nice seeing you again. I can't wait to hear all about the things you've taught Charlotte." She laughed eerily and walked out of the building.

"Charlotte Im— "Dont." I said. The bell rang off again. Signaling the end of lunch. "I'm coming over after school." I told her. "We need to talk." With that I walked away, my head hanging to the floor.

What the fuck just happened.
