While Wayne insisted on taking a day off from work to spend time with his nephew, Vivien called Lucas to find out about Maxine.
He told her they were at Max's van in Hawkins, so they rushed to her in Steve's car in a heartbeat.

Turning on the radio, in the background the song Take on me by 'a-ha' while the others with the wind in their hair look out of the window at the slightly cloudy sky.
With the thought of finally seeing her best friend.

"And here we are." she could feel her heart beating waiting for someone to open the door.
Vivien knocks on the van door and Lucas waves them "Guys, I missed you so much."

"Hey kid, good to see you again." Steve says hello to him first, patting him on the shoulder affectionately

"God Sinclair... what happened to your face?" Vivien asks him worried as soon as the boy opens the door
His face was all swollen as if he had been badly beaten.
"Here...come in now we'll explain everything."
The house is almost empty there are only Lucas and Max, currently sitting in a wheelchair.
"Lucas!" Dustin exclaims before hugging him

"Maxie, hey, hey..." Vivien approaches Max, looking at and noticing how tired she is in her face despite the fact that it has been five days since she got hurt "How do you feel?"
"Viv!" she gives her in big hug with her free arm before she could answer "Oh my god, I missed you so much."
"Me too...you have no idea." says reciprocating the hug carefully to not hurt her "Ok ok I must refrain from crying again." she chuckle
"Honestly, you're getting really, really sensitive." Max grins back
"Oh shut up," Vivien says playfully "Max i am so- so sorry i wasn't there for you when that happened i-"
"Vivi it's okay, we're ok now."

"How will you explain everything...well all this to your mother?"
"I was thinking about it, and I could tell her that I fell brutally from the skateboard."
"But it's not like you to fall."
"I know," Maxine smiles, caressing Vivien's arm, "What have you got on your arm? Why is it bandaged?"
"Oh this, a gift of the fun adventures in the upside down, my friends."

After a few seconds of silence, Steve starts talking crossing his arms "Okay, is there anything we need to know?"
"Oh yeah" Lucas starts sitting on the couch next to Dustin "I have to 'thank' Jason for this."
He pointed his face and crossed his gaze with Max's, "If he hadn't caught up with us, we could have solved things better."

If Carver hadn't been there and caused no trouble, Lucas could have put Max's headphones on her, and she'd still be in one piece.
"He's such an asshole."
"Also, Erica was attacked by one of the Tigers, maybe Andy. When I think back on what they did, I feel so stupid that I wanted to be in their group, but I just...I just didn't want to be bullied anymore."
"Lucas, you're not like them. We know. But you know what, whatever. Were you comfortable with them? Were you happy?" Vivien asking her attention to the little boy while he responds by shaking his head
"Yeah, so the only thing that matters is that you need to feel good in a group where you feel loved and appreciated. What you did was done without malice, and I get it, not wanting to feel like a loser anymore, I've been there." to her words the boy's lips bend in one of the most genuine smiles

"And what happened to you?"
"The plan worked but there was a hitch: Eddie." Dustin replies
"Eddie? What happened to Eddie?" Max asks crossing Dustin's gaze
"He was assaulted in the upside down. He's fine now, he's in the hospital, and he's recovering great, right?" he smiles and turns to Vivien
"Mhm yep the boy is strong, fortunately."

Vivien notes that there is a drawing of two people on the sofa. "I did it, you can tell by the artistic skills." the redhead chuckles  "We had a date for Friday to go to the movies"
"Mhm this reminds me of someone."
Vivien also had a date with Eddie for, what? two weeks?
