"Okay, let's go over it one more time." Nancy starts"Phase One?"
"We meet Erica at the playground, she'll tell Max and Lucas when we're ready" Robin continues
"Phase Two?"
"Max attracts Vecna. He will look for her and she will fall into a trance"
"Phase three?" Nancy asks crossing Vivien's gaze
"We distract the bats." she answers turning to look at Eddie and Dustin. The girl is scared, not for herself but for Maxine...the one in danger is her right now and she can't stop thinking about it. Yeah, she's been in these kind of things before, but it's different now.
'We're gonna get out of this mess. We're gonna get out of this sooner or later. ' that's what she continues to say to herself
"Four?"
"We enter Vacna's bat-free lair and...flambé." Robin replies, shaking the bottle of alcohol in her hands.
They all are visibly worried but what can they do? It's worth a try.
"No one moves on to the next phase until we've spoken. Let's not deviate from the plan, for any reason. Okay?" Nancy asks in serious tone looking straight in the eyes each of them
"Got it." They all respond in unison as they leave the trailer and walk to Eddie's van to get into the upside down.
"Be careful." Dustin recommends Steve
"Thanks, man."
Steve climbs the rope and catapults himself upside down with an athletic move. Harrington, the usual exhibitionist.
"Wow, what do you want a round of applause?" Vivien says sarcastically to Robin with raised eyebrows
"He's always like that, isn't he? Sometimes it's annoying."
"Oh you have no idea. I'll go."
Steve repositions the mattress to mitigate the fall and proceed to land: Vivien, Nancy, Robin, Eddie and Dustin with the necessary weapons.
"Hey guys listen." continua Steve avvicinarsi ai tre "If things get bad, even a little, abandon okay? You just have to lure the bats for a minute or two while we think about Vecna. Don't be cool or heroes or whatever. You're just..."
"Bait." Live interrupts "Don't worry, Steve, you'll be the hero."
"Absolutely, look at us. We're not heroes," Eddie says, nodding a smile
"Steve." Vivien calls him and hugs him for a few seconds, "Be careful. I want you to come back in one piece."
"We will be. Promised" replies the boy detached from his arms, sketching a smile to his friend
"Steve. Make him pay." aggiunge da dietro Eddie mentre Steve nodisce lentamente
The atmosphere is gloomy, disturbing as usual. It's cold, but that doesn't matter, the biggest problem is succeeding in the plan.
"I hadn't missed that at all." Vivien says glancing around
"Can I ask something? I know that maybe it's inappropriate...and right now, I mean we're going to..."
"Spit it out Henderson." Eddie interrupts him
"I noticed in the camper...and in the park but i didn't want to intrude. I was wondering, you two are..?" he makes a heart sign with his hands
"Um...i mean the two of us...it's like..." Eddie tries to find words by stammering and fiddling with rings on his fingers
"Oh yeah i get it." He chuckles and whispers "Idiots."
"Now comes the fun!" Eddie exclaims making a nod with his head to follow him inside his van.
"Jesus..." Eddie sighs entering his room "It's like she's destined to an another dimension" he says as soon as he sees his beautiful electric guitar hanging on the wall
"What do you think? Ready for the most metal concert in the history of music in the world?"
"Eddie" but is interrupted by the almost hypnotized girl "Do you remember that I can play bass?"
"Yes, of course," he replies, picking up the guitar
Some weeks before:
"Is that a bass guitar? Can you play it?" the musician in him couldn't help but notice it
"Uhm...yep it's mine" I point at it "I've been playing for at least five years now" music is probably the only thing I will continue to practice for a lifetime.
"You're full of surprises Byers, aren't you?" he turns to me, you can clearly hear from his expression that he is surprised.
"I'll tell you more, i can sing too" his puppy ears straighten immediately
"Now that you've revealed this shocking secret, you MUST let me hear something." he smiles like a kid who wants her mom to buy him a ice cream
"Everything in its time Munson. Everything in its time."
"And this seems to be a bass."
Vivien says raising eyebrows and cautiously approaching the tool
"What's Jeff's bass doing here?"
"Oh don't ask me, but...didn't you want to hear me play? If we have to do it we have to do it well. What do you say Munson?"
"Do you know Master of puppets of 'Metallica'?"
"You underestimate me." She crosses her arms pretending to be offended
"It is metal!"
"So what? I'm very metal." she replies raising her eyebrows
"Okay, maybe I don't look like one, but I can play it. I can tell you that. And even better than your little band friend."
It's true no one knows but when he wants it can be really rock and she's a really, really good with the electric bass.
"May I have the honor?" she asks taking the instrument in her hand
"I...umh...of course, of course, yeah"
Okay, she's officially the perfect girl.
Vivien loves how the metalhead is all confident in front of the others but as soon as he sees her he suddenly becomes nervous and sweet. Of course she noticed it and she find it really cute.
"Dustin, ready for the private concert?" the girl asks him, adjusting the shoulder strap
"Is that a rhetorical question?" replies the impatient little boy
All of them climb on the roof of the caravan and arrange the equipment.
"You know, I could replace the big guy in the band with you. I mean a pretty girl who plays an instrument like that...you'll be famous." Eddie tells her keeping his eyes fixed on the strings of his guitar while Vivien giggles.
God, her giggles
"One last kiss before we die?" Eddie approach the raven haired
"I'll give you it later because no one here will die."
"Okay, he's in. Start phase three." Robin's voice comes out of the walkie talkie. Start phase three.
"Copy. Start phase three." Dustin replies nodding "I hope they'll hear" he sighs raising the volume of amplifiers to the maximum
Vivien closes her eyes to focus on the metal energy of the song. She swings her head to the rhythm, the way her wavy hair drifts away from her shoulders, and the way she bites her lower lip. At this point Eddie is more focused on the girl's movements than on his guitar, fortunately he knows the notes.
"HEY! We have to close in thirty seconds!" Dustin informs us screaming above the loud music
