The first day of school is over. Now me, Robin and Max, who's really at her first day of high school, are heading to the cafeteria.
In my class came a new one, who is not so new, failed for the umpteenth time, Eddie Munson the school's freak. Throughout the first hour he argued with the professor of literature for having been late even on the first day.
Eddie is also the leader of the Hellfire club, a group of nerds basically, obsessed with Dungeons and dragons. Dustin, Mike and Lucas told me about it and they've recently joined it. Honestly I never understood how this game is played.
As we walk into the cafeteria I see Eddie fighting and yelling extra loud at someone from the basketball team, probably Jason, it's daily.

"What do you think about Eddie, he's in your class now uh right?" Max asked.
"Uhm yeah, well I... I don't think he's nuts or crazy like everyone thinks, eccentric and exuberant absolutely yes." I never thought badly of him, maybe the others are too superficial.
"Exhibitionist too, look at him," said Robin.           "He's already looking at him veery well" Max raises his eyebrows.

I was literally staring at him I realized it only when he noticed me and I turned looking at Robin "What no, yeah he is exhibitionist , a lot" I answered biting my sandwich

Back home I get ready for tonight's basketball game, Will will come with me, Jonathan will smoke with his new weird friends, as usual.
It also looks like the Hellfire club is getting together to play tonight, so I'm gonna have to pick up my brother's friends since Steve is busy with a girl.

Between one score and the other the victory was marked by Lucas, you could feel his enthusiasm among the encouragement of the audience. I'm proud of that kid, he has worked really hard and now thanks to him the tigers won.

Outside the fresh evening air and the evident enthusiasm of the team I put on the sweater that I wore tied on my hips and head to the nerd club.
I knock twice on the door and make to enter. The environment is almost completely dark, I see everyone rejoicing
"Hi"
I raise my voice a little and clear my throat

"Hey Vivi you can't believe it" Dustin said excited about something
"Erica had a chance in 20! Out of 20! And we won!"

"Oh Really?" I tried to sound excited too but I don't really understand what it means "Weird, luck is almost never on your side."

I can see the Leader Munson in the background. Tall, long brown haired, leather jacket and the inevitable Hellfire t-shirt on. He's laughing with the others, I know he has seen me, in fact he steps forward towards me while I stay at the door.

"Good evening, look who's here"
"I'm here to bring home the brats" I look up to cross his gaze
"By the way we haven't met yet, I'm Eddie, Eddie Munson" he smiles while he adjusts his hair. I can't help it but notice how cute he really is
"Yep, Eddie, I know who you are. I'm Vivien pleasure to met you" he looks at me a little surprised, I mean who doesn't know him in that school
"You're Mike and Dustin's friend right? They told me about you" he turns to look at the boys
"Uhm yep that's me. What did they say about me?" i'm a little upset he only know me because of my little friends but for what else could he know me
"That you're basically their baby-sitter since they were 6 and you suck at d&d" he chuckles
"Yeah yeah, that's true" i smile back at him.
"I noticed you today at the cafeteria, were you arguing with jason, right?"
"Yeah" he sigh "Most of them are douchebags"
"Well, how can i blame you"
For a few of seconds time seems to have stopped while i looked deeply in his brown eyes when Erika shakes my arm   "So, let's go or you'd rather spend the whole evening here alone with Munson"    Ok that was a little awkward for both of us. I've always loved her audacity, for some reason she reminds me of myself as a child.
"As you desire Rikie"
"Ew! Don't call me like that"

"You're welcome to come back here whenever you want anyway!" he adds leaning with an arm to the door jamb.
I turn back to look at him one more time, I sketch a sincere smile and I walk home. After all it this guy is not that bad.
