"He's awake, are you sure?" Dustin asks her getting up from the sofa
"He squeezed my hand and he...mumbled something I didn't understand but I think... Eddie's gonna be fine." Vivien offers a warm smile to the little boy whose eyes begin to shine as they've always done.

Both make to enter the boy's room but as usual the doctors stop them
"That's enough, now you have to wait." a doctor says blocking their passage
"But why?" Dustin asks annoyed left unanswered

"We couldn't choose a hospital where people were less assholes, could we? If this place could be called a hospital." Vivien exclaims raising her voice so that they could hear her while three doctors were arguing, calling it a miracle and all the rest.
That shit.

"Okay okay, I would recommend to talk to people who know Eddie. Of course, I'm not talking about the  pussies and jocks, but someone who cares about Eddie, I don't know maybe his mother." Steve suggests "And I shouldn't even say this, but avoid the crazy part of the story as much as possible, okay?"

"Dustin." Vivien calls him as she approaches the boy "Do you happen to know Eddie's parents or anyone else? I think we should warn them about how he is."
"Yeah his uncle. Eddie never mentioned his parents."
Oh.
"Let's go to the van parking lot, it should be there."
"Uhm...right. I'll drive, you come with me."

"Woah woah where are you two running to?" Robin stops them as she struggles to keep the food
"Eddie's awake." She answers before rushing into the parking lot
"Wait, are you serious?!"

"Too bad I don't have enough middle fingers to show how I feel." Vivien whispers while starting Steve's car still tired from the doctor's behavior.

And there's Hawkins. Home sweet home.
They arrive in the van parking lot, which seems like a dream because they are finally in Hawkins but at the same time a nightmare since this place remembers bad things.

"There he is, this is Wayne, Eddie's uncle." Dustin points
He's putting up posters on trees. Posters of Eddie saying:
MISSING PERSON
EDWARD MUNSON, 20 years old.
Some of them are scribbled, others have drawn horns on his head, probably the douches that still consider Eddie a maniac-satanist-killer of innocent teenagers.

Vivien's heart stops at the sight of Eddie's uncle whose face is marked by a sad expression as he is intent on placing new posters and tearing apart the ruined ones. With so much love you can see from his gestures.
How can people think that a person like Eddie could do something like that?
His uncle hasn't seen his nephew since the cheerleader's death, so he must be worried sick.
Vivien can feel her heart begin to beat faster as Dustin beckons her to approach.

"Mr Munson?" begins the boy as he approaches the man who suddenly turns around "I'm Dustin Henderson, Eddie's friend, I'm part of his club. Can we talk?"
"I don't think we have anything to talk about. My nephew is innocent. He's still missing and I'm going to put up flyers until they find him. Bye." He cuts short and goes to go collecting more posters when Vivien's voice stops him
"Sir, we were with him." her words seem to shock him because he had not even noticed the presence of the girl and because he was confused.
"And...where's Eddie now?"  It's up to them to tell Eddie's only relative in what situation he's in now, nullifying the supernatural part it, where he's been hiding from everything and everyone, he fought and almost lost his live to protect the others and buy them more time to kill some kind of monster that lives in another world. Vivien's stomach twists at the thought.
"Eddie's fine, I promise. And I know he's innocent. I know it, his friends...we never thought it would be him."
Wayne is silent but you can easily deduce that he is drawing a sigh of relief.

"Now he is hospital, but outside Hawkins...it's a long story" and she can't tell him frankly, but despite this she feels bad to have to hide the truth of the facts to his only family member, who deserves more than anyone to know it.
"I wish everyone knows him for what he is, like really know him. They're all so superficial here. Because they would love him."

Wayne nods with shiny eyes so the young woman continues "He could've run, he could've get safe, but he fought to protect this place. This town that hates him." Vivien notices a smile on the man's face.

"Mr Munson, Eddie is not just  innocent...he's-he's a hero."

"Girl, what's your name?" Wayne asks meeting the girl's gaze
"Vivien, Vivien Byers."
"Byers. Like Joyce Byers?"
"That's right, she's my mom. Uh do you know her?"
"Oh yeah, we went to the same high school."
"Yeah? I don't think my mom ever told me about it."
"Also, Eddie mentioned you." he coughs "But, you know, he's not a very opened to this kind of things, so I don't know much about you. You must be special to him, I guess."
The girl's lips curl in a smile as Dustin bumps her shoulder playfully. Eddie really talks about her. She's wondering for how long since he hasn't seen his uncle in a long time.

"I hope so. Well...now we can give you a ride to the hospital where your nephew is."

"Gladly." he hints a sincere smile nodding his head

The return journey seems endless. Vivien and Wayne are sitting in the front while Dustin pops his head out of the back seat.

Meanwhile, Eddie is awake in his hospital room and the grumpy doctor has let everyone in.
The upside down, Vecna, the bats, the bites. Everything comes back to his mind. His eyes widen and he begins to pant heavily. He feels like he's trapped and jumps when Dustin touches his arm.

"Eddie?" Dustin runs to his side. " Eddie, can you hear? It's me, Dustin!"
"Henderson?"
"Yes! Yes, yes!"
Everyone rejoices at the sound of his hoarse voice.

"Hey, hey, don't worry, kid. You're fine." Suddenly he hears his uncle's familiar voice that he hasn't heard in at least two weeks. " Eddie, you're fine. You're in the hospital. You're fine. Thank God."

Eddie sits up again, his heart rate starts to rise again.
"I'm so proud of you, son." Wayne says with tears in his eyes, "I never doubted you, I always knew you were innocent, you could never do such a thing." and Eddie takes a deep breath as a slight smile appears on his dry lips.

"Where-where is she? She was-"

"She never left your side, Eddie, she worried so much." Dustin reassures him

"A doctor held her back. Looks like they hate her, huh? She's coming, I swear he'll be here in a heartbe-" Dustin is interrupted by a female voice
"Eddie..."

He tilts her head to see everyone around him and then sees her. On the doorstep, her hands covering her face as she holds back tears.

Here are those beautiful doe brown eyes that she loves so much. The cuts on his cheeks and chin are healing, but they are still reddened.

Since when am I so sensitive?

She can finally breathe again and that painful torture on her chest suddenly ceases.
