"Mum, I missed you" Draco spoke, hugging back his mother, and then his aunt and father.
I awkwardly stood on the side, I had a feeling I was going to dread it. However, I wasn't going to let this stay go in vain. I was going to dig more into Lucius and Bellatrix and find out what the purpose of my parent's death was for them.
Before I could drown more in my thoughts, Narcissa also leaned in to hug me, except it wasn't as meaningful. Her eyes found them observing the necklace she had given me.
My first reaction was to gently grip it. I had forgotten about the fact I was even wearing this necklace.
"Are you both just going to stand there, or are you going to step in?" Spoke Bellatrix, welcoming us in. I glanced at Lucius who was also present but quiet; I guess that was his nature.
I walked in adjusting to the dark but weirdly comforting aura the Malfoy Manor glowed, the manor had it's own unique scent, something I had never smelled before.

"How's the case you're investigating going, Draco?" Inquired Narcissa as we all ate supper.
A part of me dropped, but my eyes quickly glued to Lucius and Bellatrix who seemed to be avoiding eye - contact. Draco let out a sniff and replied. "It's strange, something I have never seen before." He came to a halt before letting out a cough.
"Usually, I know who the next victim is; but in this case, I have no lead, no solid evidence, and don't know when or who will be killed next."
I took an aggressive bite of the meat in the soup and shoved the warm soup down my throat when I started to cough and my throat began to burn. I wanted the topic to be changed immediately.
"Are you alright, dear?" Questioned Lucius, handing me a glass filled with water. In a fit of rush, I cupped the glass gently allowing the water to flow down my throat, the water however tasted salty.
Not because there was something wrong with the water, but because Lucius had given me it.
After a few more chats, until Draco began to cough the tone of his voice drastically changed sounding sicker, I was hoping the soup would help him but I was proven wrong. "Draco, I already told you, you should really rest!" I huffed, annoyed at the fact he was neglecting his flu.
"Shut it, Emerlyn; I don't wanna hear it!" Draco replied to me, in a fit of rage.
The expression on Narcissa and Bellatrix's faces immediately dropped.
"Draco, that is absolutely no way to talk to your wife like that!" Scolded Narcissa, as Draco gazed at her, his lips apart.
"We raised you better than that." chimed in Bellatrix. "You better apologize." She continued with a stern face, she really meant that.
Draco turned his head to me.
"Sorry.." He muttered, it almost sounded as though it was a whisper. I knew from the bottom of my core, that he didn't mean it; he was only doing it because he was told to.
No matter what the circumstance, I never accepted fake apologies. I didn't care I was in front of his family.
To that, I turned my head away from him ever so slightly.

24 December.
It was Christmas eve, it was obvious to everyone that I and Draco weren't on the best terms. No one bothered asking me why or what the situation was and I wasn't going to seek insight. It was better if no one interfered.
In my honest opinion, the day I spent in the Malfoy Manor was honestly boring.
I felt as though I was an outcast, almost as if I didn't belong there. They all tried to welcome me, but they were the ones who stole my childhood; how would I ever feel welcomed?
Narcissa had four different colored cats, and I was fond of cats. I found my comfort by petting those cats, playing with them, talking to them freely in a childish voice, and carrying them around.
In the dark, gloomy, neglected hall. I was playing with three of the cats when I found the milky white cat missing. Slightly concerned, I got up looking around the manor for her. "Penelope?" I called out ever so lightly.
I didn't know how or when I found myself in the abandoned storage room. It was taunting, the ripped walls seemed jeering, and the old furniture seemed drawling. There were many other items I didn't bother researching.
However, those items reached me.
Walking by a shelf with many dusty useless items, on top of me fell a heavy thick black book. "Ouch.." I rubbed the top of my head to ease the pain the book caused, as the book crashed to the dusted floor.
I picked the book up, amused as it had no title, no description. Strange. I thought to myself. I flipped through the thick pages, only for them to be empty, not a single was imprinted on the book.
I was about to place down the bag, to continue my journey looking for Penelope when the speafic necklace given by Narcissa shined at it's brightest. A bright light was created within the necklace exploding outside, like it had been waiting for this moment for centuries.
I felt as though I went blind for a second, as I dropped the book creating a thump and let out a groan; whilst my arms covered my eyes to give me coverage.
As the light dimmed down, I re- opened my eyes. Nothing had changed but when I viewed the book, I was left stunned.
Everything about the book had changed.
The black dusty book had now transformed into a beautiful shade of brown with a title.
SECRETS OF THE NECKLACE.
It was printed on the hard book cover in a bright shade of golden, that gave shimmer to the title. From the title of the book, I could see parts of my own reflection as I knelt down and explored the book.
Every page was now filled, with various information that could be extremely useful.
Tom was right, this necklace did mean something.
Now the question was, why did Narcissa specifically choose me to handle such a special necklace over too?
Thought about the devil, and the devil called me.
"What are you doing here?" Narcissa spoke gently, as her voice uttered behind me.
