What if I tell her too much?
What if I don't tell her enough?
What if everything blows up in my face?
One, two, three, four, five, six. Turn.
I breathe in a large breath.
One, two, three, four, five, six. Turn.
I close my eyes, focusing on the numbers.
One, two, three, four, five, six. Turn.
I exhale my breath.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
Back and Forth, walking the length of my small room.
I can't do this. Why did I tell her I could do this?
One, two, three, fo-
Knock knock knock.
Frozen mid step, I snap my head towards my door.
"H?" I hear a whisper of a shout coming from the other side.
I breathe out all my worries when I recognize the voice behind the door.
Four, five, six.
I finish my count before moving to unlock the door. Once it's swung open, I'm met with one wide eyed Cherrybomb.
"H, hi. I got your messages, what's up?" When I don't immediately respond, she takes that as a cue to continue. "Are you okay, I mean you look like you haven't even slept."
"That's because I haven't." I mumble out, stepping to the side to let her into my room.
Her brows knit together in confusion, and yet, slowly, she makes her way into my room and onto the end of my made bed. Patiently, she waits for me to continue. She doesn't push me, or make me say anything I don't want to. She respects my boundaries and lets me to tell her on my own terms, and I love her for that.
"Okay, so last night... Chan and I kind of had... a moment." I finally speak, avoiding eye contact. My hands come together nervously fidgeting with each other, twisting the rings on my fingers.
"A moment..." She responds with more of a 'trying to understand' tone to her voice rather than inquisitively.
"A moment... yeah."
I start from the beginning of the night, telling Cherry everything I can recount. Getting to the club, seeing the 'BB' on Chan's balzer, shots with the group, shots with Zayn and Philli, seeing Chan dancing, more shots, dancing with Chan, our escape to the bathroom, and that brings us here. To my mini flashback that ruined the moment.
Talking a mile a minute, I rush out the rest of the details from last night. "And then I just kept hearing these voices in my head. Darcy and Tammy and Dave... fucking Dave... that bastard." I scoff and shake my head at the thought of him. "The 'You'll never teach again,' and 'She'll be humiliated,' and how it would all be my fault." I turn away from Cherry, closing my eyes, breathing so incredibly heavy, just wishing something was different.
