You can do it, Chan.
Just march in there and tell him you need to postpone, it's as easy as that.
Easy as that my ass.
There's nothing easy about this situation.
I know what I have to say though. There's one way out of this at this specific moment, and even if it isn't ideal, it's the only thing I can think of to give Harry and I some more time right now.
I know he won't like this– that's why I didn't tell him this morning. I know he'll be okay with it since it means we can have more time together, I just didn't want to ruin the perfect morning we were having.
This plan will work. This plan has to work. I don't know what I'll do if it doesn't.
And you know it might come back to bite me in the ass, but for now this is all I've got.
Our wedding is being held at the Callaway Vineyard & Winery here in LA. I guess it was one of the only venues that could house the amount of people invited. Sure it's a beautiful venue, I just never saw myself as one of those people who had an extravagant wedding with hundreds of people invited. I always wanted a small intimate backyard wedding.
Who knows now, maybe now I'll get the wedding of my dreams after all.
Walking into the Waldorf Astoria Hotel, where all of us are supposed to be getting ready for the ceremony before we're driven to the vineyard, I'm immediately met with Lorelai. Her hair and makeup is fully done, still wrapped in her matching pink silk robe all the bridesmaids have.
"Chandler Rae Dawson, where the fuck have you been?" She basically teleports over as she whisper yells at me.
"Lor, look I can't talk right now I just really need to find Bennett." I try to push past her, wanting to find Bennett and get this over with, but I'm not quick enough. Her hand reaches out, grabbing my wrist and pulling me back to a halt.
"Chan, you can't see Bennett, it's your wedding day. What is going on?"
I look into her worried eyes, and with a deep breath out, I give her a little more. "I know this doesn't make any sense right now. But Lorelai, for the first time in a year I feel like I know what I'm doing, and you need to let me do it." I pause for a second, my eyes pleasing with her. "I promise I will tell you everything, but right now I need to find Bennett."
She seems hesitant at first, but eventually agrees. "Okay." She nods, her eyes still full of emotion and confusion. "I expect a full rundown of everything that's happened in the last twelve hours though. Everything from you running from the rehearsal dinner till now. You. Me. Ni. Wine. And a movie... just like old times, okay?"
I smile at the thought of the three of us cuddled on the couch with endless bottles of wine and How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days playing in the background. Something we haven't been able to do since before the island.
