The One and Only part 3 ch 29

The One and Only Part 3, Chapter 29~ "Buried the Past"

At the courthouse—Skye, Alan, Monica, Bobbie, Carly, Ned, AJ, Michael, Ric, Alexis, Julia, and others were present. "Julia, why are you here?" AJ asked. "I came to support my sister. I'm sorry about what Brenda did, but I believe she needs mental help," Julia said. "Needs help? Brenda killed my husband. Our children were in the hotel," Skye said. "I know, and I'm sorry. I can't imagine what you're going through. Jax and I were good friends. I'm sorry for your loss, but my sister needs help," Julia responded. "I think you should go now," Alan said. Julia sat down. "How did Julia find out about this?" AJ asked. "Maybe Brenda called her," Ned suggested. "Skye, don't worry, this is just a bail hearing, and Brenda will go to jail. I have a strong case," Alexis said. "I'm glad you're handling it. You loved Jax too," Skye said. "Yes, I did," Alexis replied. "Brenda also needs to be held accountable for setting up my mother," Carly added. "She will be," Alexis assured her. They all stood as Brenda entered, handcuffed and with a police officer. She looked at Skye as the judge arrived, and everyone stood up. "The case involves Brenda Barrett, who placed a bomb in the Quartermaine Hotel, killing Jax Jackson and risking many other residents' lives. Brenda poses a danger to the town. The state requests no bail," Alexis stated. "Your honor, may I say something?" Brenda asked. "Fine," the judge responded. "I'm sorry for what I did. I hate that I hurt Jax. I loved him. If I could do it over, I wouldn't do it. But I can't take it back, and I'm sorry," Brenda said. "Well, it's too late. Bail is denied," the judge decreed. "Thank you, your honor," Alexis said. "I'll see you later at the hearing," the judge said and then left. Skye approached Brenda. "Are you happy? You'll grow old in jail, all alone, and I'll be with my children, Jax, and my memories of him and my family. Who has lost this time? Not me," Skye said. "Skye," AJ said as he approached. "I'm fine. I won't be her victim this time," Skye replied. "I sure as hell killed you," Brenda said. "Well, you haven't, and you won't," Skye replied and walked away with her family.

"Brenda, why did you say that?" Julia asked. "Because it's true," Brenda responded. "Maybe you don't need help. Maybe you should go to jail," Julia said. "Julia, I need you," Brenda pleaded. "I'm not going to save you. Jax was my friend too, and you're not the only one who cared for him. You're just selfish," Julia stated. A police officer approached. "Time to take you to your cell," he said. Brenda left.
