A Few Months Later...

Taylor's P.O.V

Leah is currently sitting on my lap reading a story to me, I'm listening to her talk and realising that she will be five years old in four months. Thanksgiving is rolling around quickly this year and then it will be Christmas which I am very excited about. We are currently flying to New York where I have a sold out Madison Square Garden show, Ed is meeting us there as he is coming from London then I'm taking Leah back to Nashville. We left Nashville in August after Austin visited and met Leah and we haven't been home since. It was kind of exhausting doing it before I had Leah but now instead of having worse exhaustion I was always in a good mood and never tired. The band had been constantly saying I should have had a child years ago if this was what was going to happen, nice Taylor. I always smirked at them and told them "Oh whatever, you guys are just jealous of my little princess and don't tell me you aren't because that's a lie." Then they would constantly hit back with smart remarks like, "Aww Taylor but Paul is the princess, and Leah loves us too. She even eats with us sometimes." I always laughed when that one came out because usually Leah ate with them when I was at an interview and she had Caitlin, Liz, Grant, Paul, Al and Amos who were practically Aunts and Uncles which was how Leah called them. Usually it was along the lines of "mommy can I go see Uncle Al he wants me to learn the bangers..." which was adorable and I always knew she meant drums.

But what hit me more than ever was that this year I was turning twenty three and I still wasn't in a relationship or married but I had Leah so I was happy but felt that I was missing something. Shrugging it off I went back to listening to Leah read about animals and pretty soon we were descending down to New York. Paparazzi lined the streets as I carried Leah off the plane, many still haven't gotten pictures of her and that's because I always make sure that I cover her with my blanket and it helps to shut out noise and flashes which are excessive. Sometimes I will hand her off to Devon the security guard/body guard but Leah prefers to be snuggled in nice and tight. Which I don't mind it gives me a chance to ignore the paparazzi and whisper into her ear over and over again, "I love you to the moon and back." The more I said it the more she snuggled. We finally got into the SUV and I strapped her into her booster seat and handed her Brownie out of my purse. I watched her eyes light up and then she snuggled back into her seat and watched New York flash past us.

Almost fifteen minutes later we arrived outside my apartment in New York in Tribeca. It had simply made sense to get an apartment here. I got it shortly before I adopted Leah and it wasn't hard to add children's furniture, toys, books and blankets and stuff to the apartment. I also decorated the bathroom up so it was similar to the one in Nashville or home as we called it. Leah hadn't been here but I had several times since adopting her. That was when I put all her stuff in, brought her clothing for here and such. I had so much fun and my friend Karlie Kloss helped me paint Leah's room on her day off when I came to New York when I toured for that week without her right at the start. The paparazzi weren't here yet so I told Devon to grab the booster seat and other stuff because I was taking Leah straight up. He understood so I unbuckled Leah and put Brownie in my purse again she walked this time which was a little odd but I shrugged it off. We had an interview happening here in the morning and I needed to make sure everything was clean.

Once we walked in I picked up Leah and we waited by the elevator for Devon, the booster seat and one suitcase which was all we brought. Leah snuggled into me as Devon grinned and stated, "Poppy is just like that with Karen, it's a security thing. Kids recognise the way their parents smell and gravitate towards it. Though it's always Karen for our kids not me." I frowned slightly and then realised that he was probably right, whenever Leah was nervous or scared her head went into the crook of my neck with her face pressed into my skin right were my perfume was usually sprayed on. It made sense. Smiling as I left Devon at my door after he put the stuff away he said he would be across the hall and to call if I needed anything.

Leah's P.O.V

Mommy and I have spent ages on the plane now. I'm starting to miss Uncle Austy and nana and granddad since I'm not home to see them anymore. Mommy and I were reading on the plane like we do often and when I get sick of it I go find Auntie Liz or Auntie Caitlin to give me a hug because mommy's tired. Uncle Al also gives good hugs and lets me play with his head which has no hair. We just got to the apartment in New York or Apple as I call it and Devon just left. He is my favourite body guard he is always funny and tells me about his daughter Poppy's cat Milo and I tell him about Meredith. I have just wandered into the apartment well mommy carried me since I walked from the car. I just miss nana and granddad and Uncle Austy maybe they will come soon or we will go home. I hope.
