"Today, we honor valiant soldiers for their hard work, their bravery, and the victories they have achieved. One individual in particular proves to us all that success is born of unwavering will. At only twenty, one years old, they reached the rank of Petty Officer. At twenty, three, Lieutenant. And today, at just twenty, eight years old, they are promoted to Vice Admiral of the Marines."

The crowd erupted in applause, cheers rolling through the ceremony hall like crashing waves.

"Not only did they succeed in their career, but they succeeded as a Marine. Y/n,known to their enemies as the Reaper, was the one who defeated the devil himself: Gol D. Roger, the former Pirate King, and delivered him to justice at the age of twenty, six."

Gasps rippled through the crowd before the applause surged even louder.

"And on this day, it has been officially decided to promote Y/n to the position of Vice Admiral."

Footsteps echoed as someone ascended the stage, each step firm and deliberate. A normal, sized figure stood at the center of the wooden platform,h/l h/c stirred gently by the air, piercing e/c eyes scanning the crowd. Their presence alone quieted the room, the once, excited audience now hanging onto every movement of the woman they admired and respected so deeply.

"Y/n," Sengoku said, stepping forward. "As an Admiral, and as a friend,I present you with this Medal of Honor, symbolizing your achievements and your rank as Vice Admiral."

He carefully pinned the medal onto the standard Marine coat. Y/n met his gaze and nodded once before snapping into a sharp salute. Then they moved toward the microphone.

They cleared their throat and took a slow breath.

"Dear comrades," they began calmly, "I don't have much to say. If you wish to improve, believe in yourselves. I stand here because I was gifted, but that does not mean you must be."

A faint pause.

"Good day."

They turned away,but stopped.

Looking back over their shoulder, eyes narrowing just slightly, they added, "Maintain discipline. I expect the headquarters to still be standing when I return."

The same scene appeared in the newspaper under the bold headline "Ex,Lieutenant Y/n , A New Hope." Ink,stained pages carried the story across seas and nations, passed from port to port, until it finally reached Spider Miles, into the hands of a now fully grown, blond, haired man.

He read every word in silence. The ceremony. The applause. The name that had once meant salvation to him.

A quiet smile slowly softened his features, something rare and fleeting. Without hesitation, he folded the newspaper and tossed it into the fire. The paper curled, blackened, and vanished into ash,yet the name lingered.
