" This is where the story begun. Where the embodiment of god brushed his feet on the moisty grass. On this exotic island, the abode of god, there, everything bend under their will. Of a god that doesn't have their place in this world, came back to claim their lost paradise.
It has been 8 years. The green oasis, mesmerising island, conceal its true threats behind the mask of paradise. And like fireflies, the human kind tend to be fooled by the utopistic delusion of the thought as sacred land. Or maybe they would have, if any of them had found the location. One knew and they came as if the soil birth them.
The eyes of the one lend of this haven greedily, and they never backed away from rulling their territory."
Final stop : Reaper Island..
"What do you mean: 'This is my island'??" An expression of shock spread across their faces as they heard the news. The scientists had long gone with the liveaboard, leaving the four of you on a smaller vessel for your final trip. Thanks to Roger, you had the chance to put your name on the island after being promoted, granting you exclusive rights to its exploitation and development.
"I lived here before becoming a marine. Moved out seven years ago," you said, scratching your chin as you folded the newspapers.
"I've never heard of this island..." Benkei murmured, slightly doubtful, staring ahead while carefully following the eternal pose. The cozy boat rocked slowly through the dense fog, an unnoticeable tension lingering among the marines. The air felt damp with every breath, and soon your eyes caught a faint silhouette.
"It's well hidden—that's why I was put in charge as soon as I asked for it. Apparently, they make sure to keep track of all the important islands," you said with a slight shrug, your eyes fixed forward in wonder. Many thoughts ran through your mind at that instant, including your path through all this. You needed a base in case things went wrong—somewhere to hide people, and many at that. The scientists weren't supposed to arrive yet, but you knew they would eventually be required.
"You mean you grew up here?" Panom watched you with an instant, piercing gaze. A hint of curiosity crept into her monotonous voice. You smiled at her but chose to remain quiet.
The growls of beasts slowly reached your ears—a nostalgic feeling, even for the brief time you had spent here. The fog dissolved gradually, leaving the island only a blur before you could fully admire its beauty: the beach of clean sand, shining under the strong sun's rays. The climate seemed to have built its own defenses, pushing a thick barrier of fog all around. Strangely, it hadn't been like that when you first landed.
Grabbing the ramp, you stared at the familiar landscape. The beach was covered in seawater and sand, and the jungle you once stayed in—the place where you had built a tiny house with everything at hand—stood before you.
