The drive down to Cousins was my favourite part. The feeling of excitement building with every passing minute. The smell of the sand and sea as we inched closer to the house. Tuning into Cousin's radio which always played the best summer songs.

I had always loved summer, the beach, the late nights and BBQ's. It was Cousins that made me realise I love it so much. It was different from any other place, my dad calls it sunshine valley.

Cousins itself was beautiful, it wasn't too big nor too small but what I loved most was the people, my best friends lived in cousins as well as my second family; The Fishers.

Every year since I was born we came to Cousins for the summer holidays, it's where my best memories are.

I checked the sat nav, twenty minutes until we're there. It took all of me not to scream in my brothers ear to drive faster, I knew it would just make him drive slower. Instead I shut my eyes resting my head on the car window.

"Belly shut up!" Steven snaps at my sister who sang loudly from the back of the car. She ignored him proceeding to sing louder. "I can't wait until you can drive yourself down here." He sighs thinking it can't get any worse but soon enough my mother joins in singing as she sat with Belly in the back.

"Seriously guys? I can stop the car now." The girls laugh at Steven as they finally stop singing. I tried not to look at the sat nav as I felt every time
I did, only a few seconds would've passed even though it felt longer.

Instead I look outside, we were nearer than I thought as I see the seafood shack, the bait shop and various small restaurants and cafe's that make up Cousins. I look to my brother's window, the sea was transparent blue, people splashing around in the water. The sand so vibrant, you could just tell how soft it felt. I wiggle my toes, itching to get onto the beach.

"Oh turn this up!" My mum shouts knocking me back to reality as my brother turns it up for her. I look to her, eyes closed as she clicked her fingers to the best of the song.

"Me and Susanna would listen to this every time on the way down to Cousins." She speaks softly, it was the weirdest song I've ever heard, like old electronic music. I look to Steven and Belly trying to hold on our laughs. Belly snorts as she holds her nose, my mother slapping her arm, her eyes still shut.

'Change it.' I mouth to Steven as he nods his head changing the station to fortunately one of mine and Steven's favourite songs.

Me and Steven were twins, I was older by three minutes but he always hates me bringing that up. We got along really well for twins, we never argued unless necessary, we annoyed each other all the time but you can only expect that from being twin's.

But we had a lot in common, music taste, humour, Belly annoying us, us teasing Belly. It was nice to share these things with someone.

This song was more than my favourite though, it reminded me of Cousins. Otis Reading- Sitting on the dock of the bay. It was Conrad who introduced me and Steven to this song, apparently Mr Fisher loved it, I think that's why he loved it too.

Me and Conrad when we're younger used to be inseparable. I counted him not only as my brother but my best friend. But over the years, it all just disappeared. I don't know what I did to make Conrad Fisher hate me, but it didn't mean nothing anymore, because I now, hated him too.

It started around three years ago, me and Steven had just turned fifteen and I felt like a new person, older, more mature, and my boobs had finally grown. But when we got to cousins, it was like Conrad had switched.
