I woke up, the sunlight beaming onto my face as it shone through the curtains, I squint my eyes as I sit up, rubbing my eyes as i look to the empty bed Conrad was in last night.

I furrow my eyebrows looking around the room, he was nowhere, did he just leave me? Before I can question anymore the door goes making me jump a little bit fortunately it was just Conrad.

"Morning." He nods his head walking in with some coffee's and pastries. "Thank you." I say as he hands me one of each sitting on the edge of the bed. "I don't know how good these will be, there form the front desk and the machine looked like no one had used it since the nineties." I laugh a little as I take a sip nearly gagging.

"Yeah I think it's best if we go out and get some coffee." I put mine down on the bed side table. "So where are we?" I question still not knowing where we are.

"I'll show you come on." He ushers me to get ready. I go the bathroom getting ready meeting Conrad back in the room with both our bags packed next to him. He carried them both back to the car while I checked out. I didn't even look to the person behind the desk I was that tired.

When I get outside I try find my bearing's but it looked like somewhere I knew, a smell I knew. "I still have no clue." I shake my head as Conrad nods for me to get in the car.

I just wanted to know so I quickly rush to the passenger seat getting in as he starts to drive and finally it hits me. "Conrad we're in cousins." I look to the ever so familiar beach. He doesn't say anything but pulls up to the side of the road as it over looked the beach.

I get out of the car following Conrad as he stands on the edge looking over the sea. "I told you I needed to get away." I say with annoyance standing next to the boy.

"No you don't, the only place you need to be is here." I furrow my eyebrows looking to him, I was still confused. "Cousins is your home El, stop trying to run away from it." He says bluntly but for once, it didn't make me annoyed or upset. It gave me realisation.

He was right. I hate that he was always right. "Come on we're going home." He grabs my hand leading me back to the car slowly. We get back into the car as drive in silence but it was comforting, though it was quiet, I knew Conrad was there sat right next to me.

We pull into the driveway as I look at the house. "Are you okay?" Conrad turns to look at me as I turn to him. "If anything this gives me a new perspective on summer, I'm going to make it Susanna's best one yet." He smiles brightly at my words, our eyes set on each other.

We leant into each other, this couldn't be, was I about to kiss Conrad Fisher? I become nervous, my palms becoming sweaty as our faces inches closer and closer, I close my eyes as...

"Where the fuck have you been!" I nearly scream as I move my head away knocking it on the door behind me. I turn as I see my angry faces mother glaring into the car.

"Mum it's fine." I roll my eyes opening the car door. "You don't come home from Nicole's, Steven's car is missing and neither of you answer your calls, does that define fine?" She crosses her arms as me and Conrad stand next to each other.

I wanted to tell her I knew, that I found out Susanna had cancer, and that's why all of this happened but as I look to Conrad, I couldn't and wouldn't.

"I'm sorry mum." I shrug as she scoffs expecting me too say more of an excuse. "You're grounded for a week." I look up. My mum never grounded us at Cousins, it was like an unwritten rule.

"Mum I-"
"You will go to Deb practice but apart from that you stay in the house, and if you leave apart from Deb practice I'll add on another week, we clear?" She raises her eyebrows.
