I placed the envelope on the kitchen counter. The boys in the car waiting, I look over to the girls watching a movie, a movie they watched every year at Cousins, though I hadn't watched it in ages.

"See you guys later." I smile but Susanna rushes over grabbing the envelope. She squeals making Belly and my mother jump. "You're doing the Deb ball, your going to debutant." Her eyes glistened with happiness as she grabs my hands tightly.

"It's not a big deal." I shake my head. "Really Ellie? I didn't think it was your thing." My mother shrugged before stuffing her face with popcorn. "It is so her thing, oh tomorrow we're going shopping for Deb outfits!" Deb outfits? What had I gotten myself into...

"Don't be too late home." My mother warns, she knew were going to the beach but didn't know it was a party. Not that my mother wouldn't allow us to go but there would be a hundred more rules than just 'don't be home late.'

I hear my brother beep the car repeatedly and annoyingly. "I've got to go, bye." Susanna blows me a kiss before looking to the card again holding it tight. I'm glad it made her happy me going.

I rush outside jumping in the car as Steven speeds off. Jeremiah was in charge of the aux and sat next to Steven, meaning I was in the back with Conrad.

"Also your welcome, check next to your feet." Jeremiah says, I look down and see a bottle of Malibu next to my feet, my favourite. "Thanks Jere." I smile opening it as I start to drink.

I feel it swiped away as Conrad takes a sip from it. "Hey!" I shout taking it back. "Sharing's caring Conklin." He laughs trying to snatch it back but I move it to other side of my seat as he reached it over.

I take a big gulp as he finally gets it in his grasp. "Such an ass hole." I said but for once, it was in a light hearted way, and he could tell as he smiles lightly back at me.

"Did I just hear you two get along!" My brother says out of shock. "How was me calling him an ass hole getting along?" I tilt my head at my brother as he just shrugs it off turning the music up louder as we sing all the way to the beach.

The beach was blaring with music, the bonfire was in a part of the beach that was secluded away from houses, so we knew we were in the clear. I jump out the car rushing down to the beach as I see Nicole, Shayla and GiGi.

The scream as they see me, Shayla rushing over and hugging me first. "Hey gorgeous." Her thick British accent speaks. "You can talk." I giggle as Nicole comes up behind hugging me as we sway. "Loving the hair Nicole." She had red braided into the front, it really suited her.

"Oh I've missed my girls!" GiGi joins in on the group hug as we all laugh. I had known these girls my whole life at Cousins, one time I did summer school here because I was failing and surprisingly it was a really good summer as all the girls also had it as well. It brought us closer, so even though I spent the majority of my summer behind a desk, it was all worth it.

We head over to the drinks table, the boys joining us as everyone says hi to each other. Nicole and Conrad immediately walking off and sitting together.

Last year Conrad took Nicole to the Debutant ball, I guess it was a lot more serious than that now, Steven and Shayla had also walked off somewhere, so had GiGi and Jeremiah. Leaving me, the single one by herself.

"Hey Smelly Ellie." Cam walks over to me grabbing a bottle of water. "Hey Cam Cameron." I smile as he turns to me. "So how are you?" He asks taking a sip of his water. "Um determined, I don't know I'm starting think parties aren't my thing." I sigh taking a sip of my own drink.
