The day had finally come, the day Susanna had none stop been talking about. The countless shopping trips and Deb practices all came down to this day.

I stared at my dress hanging delicately on my wardrobe. I hadn't even brushed my teeth yet, the first thing I did when I woke up was go over to my dress, the shoes sitting below it.

I hear a knock at the door immediately knowing it was susanna. "Come in." She opens the door closing it softly behind her.

"It's beautiful isn't it." She gushes at the dress standing next to me, she picks up the dress letting the lace run threw her hands as she drops it back. "Susanna I can't thank enough for everything, I mean the dress, the outfits." I turn to her as she grabs my hands swinging them back and forth.

"It was all worth it, too see you and belly carry my families tradition." I could see tears forming in her eyes, I pull her into a hug which we both sink into. I could feel Susanna was getting more skinny I could see it as well, I try not to focus on it too much, because once I think about Susanna having cancer I can't help but start crying.

"Right well before I cry anymore, let's go eat breakfast!" She says laughing while wiping her tears. I follow Susanna down, an array of fruits, pastries and yogurt laid out on the table.

"Morning bells." I sit next to her resting my head in her shoulder. "It's so early." She whines placing her head on the table. "Belly sit up your hairs getting in the yogurt." Mum tells her off as she lifts her hair up as she does I see a mark on her neck. "Belly!" I whisper shout poking at the hickey. She quickly grabs her hair covering it her cheeks flushing red.

"Shut up." She says looking over at mum and Susanna. "Dig in girls." Susanna sighs sitting down opposite belly while my mum sits opposite me. "Aren't we waiting for the boys?" I question as I grab a croissant and place it on my plate.

"Oh no, the morning of the deb ball the girls get a breakfast just for themselves, why do you think we're eating so early?" Susanna winks to me and belly as we all laugh stacking all different kinds of things into our plate.

Usually by this point the boys have stolen most of the food and left me and belly with half of something or crumbs. "This is so good." Belly says threw heaped mouthfuls of pancakes and various toppings.

"Oh my god Susanna this jam is heavenly." I say eating a scone with strawberry jam and cream. "The boys actually made that batch, I thought I would bring it to cousins. God it took me ages to convince them to make some." She laughs. "So you guys ready?" My mum asks both of us. "I'm so exited, Jere even got a tie to match my hair piece." Belly says with excitement.

"Yeah it's gonna be good, i think James is meeting there because I haven't heard from him since yesterday." As I say that, Susanna and my mum both grin between each other, like they knew something I didn't. I decided not to question it, I could hear someone walking downstairs and piled more onto my plate before whichever boy was coming down the stairs stole it.

"Can I smell pancakes?" Steven says with sleepy eyes. "What why didn't anyone call me for breakfast." He sulks walking over. "Hands off, it's for your sisters." Susanna bats his hand away from the food, like he was a fly. "You know me and Jeremiah are debs as well we deserve this food." He was actually upset, I would be too if I couldn't have any of this food.

"Hold on I need Jeremiah to back me up, I'll be back." He rushes back upstairs. Before we know it Jeremiah and Steven come running down the stairs with water guns spraying all of us. We aural jumping up from the table and running away as we do Jeremiah stops picking up the food and heading upstairs.
