Six Years Ago

"You're such a bad dancer Ellie!" My brother shouts as I try memorising the dance scene from dirty dancing. "Shut up stupid." I stick my tongue out at him as I carry on dancing around the room.

"No seriously El's, your dancing sucks ass!" Jeremiah adds. "Jeremiah don't swear." Susanna warns him as the mums sat the kitchen islands, while the boys played chess together.

Me and Belly never understood chess, well not to the extent to play it professionally like the boys do. Belly was currently having a nap and used this time to watch dirty dancing, one of my favourite movies.

"Like you could do any better." I speak back to Jeremiah as I try ignore them and focus on the steps.

"Here I'll teach you." Conrad lifts his glasses higher onto his nose making his way over to me. I smile as my heart beats faster. "Thanks Connie." I blush as his cheeks become red like mine.

He nervously grabs my hands, placing one on his shoulder and the other he held tight with his hand. "Ok now don't worry about your feet, just look at me." I nod my head as as we move back and forth to the music.

Our eyes set on each other. I loved his eyes, so intense and bright.

It felt like we were the only two people in the universe. Everything around me became a blur as I all I could focus on was him. His smile, his eyes. He was perfect.

"See you're a natural Smelly." He dips me as I squeal a little tightening my grip on him. "Don't worry I've got you." He says softly looking into my eyes as I nod my head. I could always trust Conrad, he would always be there to save me.

"Ow Ellie my foot!" Nicole complains for the hundredth time at my dancing. Since I didn't have a Deb date yet, Nicole was teaching me the dance. I felt like I had two left feet, I couldn't memorise any of the moves nor do half of them. I had now stepped on Nicole's toes five times in the space of fifteen minutes.

"Let's take a break." She sighs stepping away from me, almost limping on her right foot. "I'm sorry Nicole I didn't think I was this bad." I run my hands stressfully through my hair.

"I just feel bad for whoever your date is." She giggles, I would just have to choose someone whose a good dancer so it doesn't make me look as bad.

Belly had brought Cam along to dance with. They looked cute together, laughing, smiling, blushing. They were the perfect couple. I hope she forgot about Conrad and focused on Cam. Cam was good for her, no drama.

"Girls I'll be two minutes, I just need to sort something out." Rachel announces as she leaves the room and practically everyone uses this time to stop dancing and chat.

I make my way over to my sister and Cam who carried on dancing, I don't even think they heard what Rachel said. "Wow you guys are pretty good." They both look to me entering back into reality as they step away from each other.

"Unlike you, good to know you still have two left feet." I roll my eyes pushing my sisters arm as she laughs along with Cam. The door opens and I turn around to see Jeremiah, shirtless running over to us.
