0002. | A GIRL WITH THE VOICE
OF AN ANGEL AND HAIR OF FIRE

Percy couldn't exactly pinpoint how many times he dozed in and out of consciousness when he was in his coma. There wasn't much certainty to his foggy state, only the guarantee of the glowing girl every time.

"Drink this." She had ordered him and fed a golden liquid down his throat. "Trust me."

He did.

Percy remembered thinking how her voice was almost as nice as her singing voice. He hadn't exacted any words of her songs, but he liked the sounds. He felt warm, healed by the tunes that wafted in his ears. And he stupidly trusted her as well, her and her metal arrows and her brave face.

"Careful." She murmured and dabbed his chin. "You've drooled."

He knew his cheeks were surely burning with embarrassment, but his drowsy mind was too exhausted to care about his dribble. He saw her smirk as his eyes drooped shut again, his mind snatched away into sleep once more.

He remembered another time seeing a blonde girl looking over him with a mischievous glint in her eye, as if she knew she was doing something bad. "What happens at the Summer Solstice?" Her question was abrupt and Percy hadn't a clue what she was going on about.

"What?"

"What's going on? What was stolen? We've only got a few weeks!" The girl didn't take his confusion for an answer, if anything, she continued to bombard him mercilessly with even more questions that he couldn't have a chance of answering. Percy was scared of her. He wanted the ginger girl back.

"Annabeth! Stop it. He's barely conscious." It was her again and Percy was incredibly glad to see her in his exhausted state, praying that she would save him from the interrogative blonde.

"He's fine!" The blonde insisted on Percy's behalf, but he wanted to argue the point. He was exhausted. Even speaking was effort. It felt as if his mouth had been glued shut.

"No he's not," the ginger girl spoke for him thankfully. "He needs more rest. Out, now." She sounded less harsh with her orders than she had when she yelled at him with the bull-man.

Percy blinked and the blonde was gone, the ginger girl taking her place and leaning over him with a wet cloth in hand. She rested the cloth on his burning forehead and his eyes thrummed shut with bliss at the cooling touch.

He felt himself lull into sleep once more, the sounds of her singing returning to his eager ears.
