0005. | HE WILL SEND A
THOUSAND SHIPS IN HER NAMEAnnabeth wasn't feeling great.
She had been sick when she woke up. She had to steal a hose from the Demeter Cabin to wash away her vomit. Her sleep had been plagued with nightmares of monsters and the feelings of fear. She hadn't dreamed of anything real, she hadn't seen anything, but the feelings were real. She was becoming ill with stress and she was beyond worried about Octavia. She missed her best friend who would surely be able to stop Percy and Thalia's fighting and if not, coax away her nightmares. She misses Octavia. She was worried about her state.
Her fears for her were becoming especially potent given Percy and Thalia's arguing.
Capture the Flag was ruined, Thalia was in need of a towel, Percy of some new un-fried clothes, and a new prophecy had been given from the walking Oracle itself. What was right was wrong, what was up was down. Nothing was right anymore and it all seemed to have begun with Octavia being kidnapped. Annabeth knew she was important to Camp and the Gods, but she didn't realise just how serious it was.
Chiron had called an emergency meeting in the Rec Room for all the Head Counsellors.
Everyone settled around the ping pong table, waiting on Percy and Grover.
They had been saddled with the task of returning the fallen Oracle back to her attic and they sure were taking their time.
Travis was sat beside her, looking bored as hell waiting. He had kicked his feet up on the ping pong table and was rolling his neck on the back of his chair. His Adam's apple was poised and angular, casting a shadow on Zoë's face. Connor was besides him, leaning forward and taking advantage of Travis' shut eyes to tie his laces together.
There was a thin, high-pitched humming in the air that was really bothering Annabeth, like a fly buzzing.
When she looked to her left, she realised why Travis' throat was bobbing as it was. She swatted his shoulder. "Quit it!"
His eyes shot open and he stared at her. The humming stopped. "I'm bored."
"That's not my problem." She issued and crossed her arms.
He cracked a grin and pulled his feet off the table. Thanks to the laces being tied together because of Connor's antics, Travis fell off his chair too.
He scrambled up just as Percy entered the room with Grover behind him.
Their hands and clothes were covered in dust from carrying the ancient Oracle and Percy still carried the distinct smell of barbecue thanks to Thalia's frying. He looked a mess, but Annabeth figured he found that pretty apt. Percy was going insane, or at least, it seemed it.
