Day Two.
Kian wasn't a stranger to losing someone.
The death of his father has done a number on him.
Not a professional diagnostic, but he was sure that the loss of his father and the upbringing he endure played a major part in how he is today.
He grew up quicker than he should have.
He handled things that he shouldn't have.
He did things that he wasn't supposed to do.
He never wanted to be someone to look up to, because he knew for certain he was a horrible role model.
He was always too angry. Too impulsive. Too minacious.
The thing with Kian was that he didn't hide from what he was. He was molded from his trauma and finally found his foot in all of its chaos.
This lifestyle was where he was perfect in.
If he had to list of his qualities, then killing, hurting, controlling, and being invincible in the night was something he was a master at. This was his shit and he had been doing it for so long that it was him.
Until he met her.
Kian was learning rapidly that everything was changing after meeting her.
The way he think, the way he acted, the way he handled his business, it was all changing since her.
Even the way he felt about things.
Maybe this is what his mother meant when it came to her love for them over the mafia.
Normally, experiencing the loss of someone who isn't blood wouldn't affect him. He wouldn't even care or bat an eye seeing the life drain from someone in front of his face, but when Ellie walked out of the house in Kruz's care it felt like he was losing an organ.
It felt like a huge black hole was dug out in his body and it was shaped into the curve of the woman he watched leave.
Kian has never in his life thought he would be experiencing something like this. He was unnaturally attached to her and losing her was making him worse.
He was so f**king angry at himself, that he was incapable of giving her his full trust.
Angry that she just couldn't get in her thick skull that it was too much for him to do. Too foreign. Too unlike him.
He was even angrier that he was the reason why someone who he wanted so badly to stay in his life has left.
Why couldn't he see that she was it?
That she deserved everything from him?
When any other woman would have run away from him from the beginning, Ellie stayed. Even after finding out about her parents being killed by his father, she still stayed.
Shouldn't that be enough?
Yet, in all of that, Kian couldn't bend to what she wanted.
Once again, his paranoia and selfishness were taking over his perception of everything. For the first time, Kian wasn't sure if having these traits was beneficial anymore.
Having to be torn between letting Ellie go because of his paranoia in trusting her or holding her tight because of his selfish need to always have her was becoming annoyingly exhausting.
It has been two torturous nights since Ellie left Kian standing with his heart slowly beating on the floor in the surveillance room.
Initially, Kian didn't want to believe that Ellie was truly leaving him. Like a kid with gleaming eyes filled with hope, he thought Ellie would have turned back and come back to him.
