The moment Kian's father, Calvin handed him Lancaster and Co., he knew he wasn't fit to run it.

His mother, Kassie,  was the one to pass the rights to him when he turned 20.  She hated being in the limelight and the four years of running the business showed it.

Kian assumes he gets this same habit from his mother. Among many other things, Kian hated being in the front and center. He preferred operating from among the shadows.

He always question why his father was so adamant about handing the company to him. It was many reasons why it was a bad idea, but Kian assume it was because he had survival skills.

Perseverance and a strong head.

Something his father had seen in him as a child.

That no matter what life threw at the boy, he always found a way to make it out.

For instance, when Kassie was giving birth to him he came out a stillborn, but when the doctors check on him again, he was breathing fine.

Then it was a time when at his 8-year-old birthday party he got knocked down while playing near the road. The hit and run broke his leg and arm. Kian was unconscious for 2 days and walked out of the hospital being as much alive as anyone can be.

When Kian had turn 14 he was shot. He had bled so much, that the doctor said he doesn't even know how the boy made it.

However, it wasn't the ability to get back after every knock that intrigued Calvin, but it was the fact that Kian remained calm through it all.

That's what Kian believed to be the reason behind Calvin's decision. If not, then he had no clue what was.

"If we shorten the supply, we won't be able to meet the daily quota,"  Kameron's voice cut through Kian's thoughts. He looked up to the oldest of them all, the one who was supposed to run the company.

The news of who inherited the CEO position after their dad caused a bit of a rift between the brothers.

Kameron had been working on achieving this company and after four years of Kassie running it, he thought it would be handed to him.

When that didn't happen Kameron was bitter. However, the Lancaster brothers were taught to speak what was on their minds and Kameron didn't hold back on letting Kian know that he wasn't worthy of the position.

Kian didn't have a clean image and he didn't know how to maintain a life legally.

To Kameron's shock, Kian agreed with him.

He didn't care about this shit and if Kameron cared then he would do the job.

So, a year after being a CEO, he stepped down and allowed Kam to play the role and deemed himself COO. However, this was all a facade because on paper Kian was still CEO.
