KNOCK KNOCK

"Nya you in there?" Jay knocked on Nya's door before fixing his tux. "It's Jay. I was just wondering if you're all ready."

Today's a special day for the couple. It's their anniversary! Their 10th year anniversary to be exact. Jay had asked Nya to hang out with him for a while to enjoy their anniversary. Which is why he wore his fancy tux and tried to style his hair. But of course, no matter how hard he tried, he never manage to style his hair.

"Just a sec." Nya's voice rang out from inside the room. "Jay can you come in here? I need your help. The door's not locked by the way."

Jay pushed the door opened and saw his girlfriend in the same outfit she wore when he first met her. Nya rarely wore her traditional, red kimono nowadays. She usually wore a striped black and white shirt, leather jacket, jeans and a pair of converse. This is a one rare sighting.

"Can you help me zip up my zipper please?" Nya walked backwards towards Jay, showing him the unzipped zipper.

"S-sure." Jay stammered. He raised up Nya's hair and zipped up the zipper.

"Thanks Jay." Nya turned around to face her boyfriend. "What do you think?" She gestured towards her clothing. "Do I look good?"

"Good? You look amazing! By the way I've always wanted to ask, did you make this all by yourself?" Jay asked.

"Yeah actually. I made it back then when it was just me and Kai." Nya smiled.

"With your own hands?"

"Sort of." Nya shrugged.

"These hands?" Jay hold both of Nya's hands in his.

Nya get the clue immediately. He has done this trick before. Back then when they fought the hands of time. Jay pulled Nya closer to him. They both closed their eyes as their lips unite, bringing each other the feeling of warm air after a cold winter. The two parted and stared at each other. Both getting lost in each other's dreamy eyes. Suddenly, the sound of a camera clicks and breaks the couple's silent moment.

"Cute." Cole giggled, holding his phone at eye length.

"Ew, gross." Kai shivered. "Need you do it in front of my eyes?!"

Apparently, while the couple's mid-embracing, Cole and Kai accidentally passed by Nya's room. Therefore intruding on the couple's moment. Cole had the sneaky idea to take the picture of the two while Kai's just disgusted by the two's sudden actions.

"We didn't ask you to spy on us." Jay looked back at his teammate.

Cole stared at his phone and giggled. "Totally "not" sending this to my social media. Come on Kai. You said you wanted to play some Fist to Face 2." Cole pulled Kai's arm.

The two looked at each other before bursting into laughter at their teammates' antics. "Ready to go now? I want to show you something." Jay asked his partner, entwining his fingers in hers.

"Sure, why not?"  Nya shrugged.

Jay escorted her girlfriend outside towards the courtyard. Once outside,  the two then walked towards the mural. The mural is one of their favourite things in the monastery. Because of how it magically reminded them of their past memories and adventures. Even though it brings back bad memories too sometimes, the good ones always overlaps the bad ones.

"The mural?" Nya stared at the creatively decorated wall in front of her.

"Put this thing on first." Jay offered Nya a corsage made of Sakura flowers.

"Okay," Nya put the corsage on. "Now what?"

"You know why I chose Sakura instead of any other flowers?" Jay asked.

"I don't know. Why?" Nya asked back.

"Sakura flowers symbolises a time of renewal and the fleeting nature of life. It reminded me of how someone doesn't live in this world forever. So before our relationship ends one day, why don't we review the things we have done so far?" Jay offered.

"Sure." Nya head over to the first scene on the mural. "Remember when we first met? I still remember your first question was whether I liked blue. Lucky for you blue's my favourite colour."

"Of course I remember that. I was ecstatic knowing that we liked the same colour." Jay walked towards the second scene. "What about when you turned evil? That wasn't a very good moment isn't it?"

"Oh that time. I remember Kai told me how you don't want to hurt me even though I was evil. that was very kind of you Jay. You're also very loyal. The way you held on to me in the love triangle drama was amazing."

"That wasn't one of my favourite moments. But I understand how you're like back then. You're confused with your emotions. It's okay Nya, I totally forgive you. It's a huge relief when me and Cole peaced out. That was a tense moment. Let's leave the bad memories and to the good ones. Like when you become the water ninja! That was amazing."

"Yeah. It's hard leaving my role as Samurai X though but I'm used to it now. But do you know my favourite part?" Nya smirked at Jay.

"What?" Jay asked.

"When we made up. Nadakhan did a very good job of reuniting us back then. And then you disappeared to the first realm but luckily you came back. And then you asked me to be your yang. One of my favourite moments too. And of course, me merging with the sea for a year." Nya sighed.

"You know I always wondered why you did that? We could've just find another way to defeat Wojira."

"It's not only because of Wojira but also because I can't bear losing you. I can't live the rest of my life without you Jay. I need you." Nya grasped Jay's hand tightly.

Jay smiled at his loyal girlfriend. "I'm lucky to have you Nya. In fact that's one of the reasons I'm about to do what I'm about to do."

"What are you about to do?" Nya asked.

"Nya Smith. Thank you for arriving in my life. I can't imagine a life without you. It's probably going to be much duller and bland than my current live. You're like the sunshine because you always brighten up my day. You're always there through highs and lows and you accept all of my faults and imperfectness without even thinking twice. I always admire your loyalty. The way you're willing to sacrifice your life for me or the team is marvelous.  What's even more amazing is that you've done it for three times already.

After I knew the true meaning of the Sakura flower, I felt that what I'm about to do is the right thing. The way it reminded me about how limited life is, is just amazing. Dear Nya, I have fallen head over heels for you. I have fallen into a hole that I have no desire to get out of. Because of how limited our life is, then allow me to seal this relationship once and for all." Jay get down on one knee and pulled out a black box. He flipped the lid open, revealing a beautiful silver ring with an aquamarine diamond on the centre.

"Nya Smith, will you marry me?" Jay looked up hopefully at his open mouthed girlfriend.

"Wow Jay I don't know what to say." Nya breathed out in surprise.

"You don't have to say anything. Just yes or no." Jay told her.

Nya laughed to herself for a while before pulling his boyfriend up and held his hand in hers tightly. "Are you kidding? Of course I'd say yes. Why would I say no?"

Jay breathed out a sigh of relief and put the ring on his girlfriend's finger. He then pulled her closer to him for a passionate kiss. The two spent some time embracing before pulling themselves backwards. Both of their faces flush a bright hue of red.

"I love you Nya." Jay muttered.

"I love you more Jay." Nya replied.
