Set after Prime Empire. Warning: Not so happy ending. Sorry but I'm feeling like writing angst today so...

Jay ran down the stone staircase of the Mountains of Impossible Height. When he reached the foot of the mountain, he crouched down and hold his knee close to his chest as tears flowed freely on his face. He stared at both of his hands. They're both trembling and pale. Just staring at them both reminded him of the recent incident. He'll never forgive himself for what he did.

Some time after defeating Unagami, the ninjas returned to the Monastery for some extra training. Since in Prime Empire they can't use their powers, they'll have to get used to being around their elements once again. Out of all the ninjas, Jay had the worst time adapting. He's not sure why yet but now and then, whenever his emotions are out of control, random bursts of lightning would shoot out of his hand and cause chaos. And recently it attacked one of the person he loved the most, Nya. He closed his eyes and leaned on the wall as he regret his past actions. If only he controlled his emotions back then, then Nya wouldn't be hurt. It's all his fault.

"I'm sorry Nya, you don't deserve it at all. It's all my fault. I'm sorry. Please forgive me." Jay sobbed.

Some time earlier...

"Don't tell me you're gonna quit now! You can't do this! Ninjas never quit remember?" Nya  rushed to follow Jay's hurried steps towards the huge red gate ahead.

"I'm not a true ninja anymore Nya. I hurt everyone I met. Ever since we returned from Prime Empire I can't seem to control myself. And now look what I've done. Every single person in this monastery has been hit with my sudden lightning bolt at least once but you. And the last thing I need is to see you hurt. And I don't want to. So please Nya just let me go. I need a break." Jay opened the gate and was just about to leave when Nya grabbed his wrist.

"But what will I do without you? I need you." Nya plea.

"You'll figure it out but for now you have to let go Nya. I've hurt a lot of people in the past week and I don't need another one. Just let me go Nya."

"No, never. I'll never let you go. Not even for a second." Nya held on tighter.

Jay clenched his fist. Lightning bolts flew around his body and his eyes glowed a bright shade of blue. "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE NYA!" He thundered.

He then felt a sharp searing pain on his head. Finally his eyes are not glowing anymore and the lightning bolts disappeared. He opened his eyes. His head is still dizzy for some unknown reason. He looked around hoping to recall what just happened. Not so far away from him, he spotted Nya's limp body. He rushed to her immediately and turn her around so that she's lying on her back. Jay gasped at the amount of burns and scorch marks on her skin. And then it dawned on him. The reason why Nya's unconscious with many serious injuries on her is because...he attacked her. No matter how much he denied it, it's the only thing that adds up. He abandoned Nya there, grabbed his duffel bag and ran down the staircase, never looking back again.
