This is an AU so Jay and Nya haven't met each other. Takes place in Highschool.

Nya's P.O.V.

Finally, after hours and hours of being cooped up in this compact, whitewashed room, it's finally home time. I harshly shoved all of my books into my bag before heaving it on my shoulder. I rushed past the long hallways and corridors before breathing in the fresh air from outside.

I was planning on going straight home when I realized I'll just be alone anyway. My brother, Kai, will be hanging out with his friends until after sundown. Since I have a lot of home works for the weekend, I thought I'll just start finishing some so there'll be much less work for me to carry on my shoulder. And there's only one place where I can find peace and quiet, the park.

I walked through the curves and pavements until I reached the sunny park. I spotted a bunch on kindergartners playing with the slides and swings nearby, a group of teenagers finishing a project together, a happy family feeding the ducks by the pond and a lonely tree. The tree's tall and huge which provided a good shade from the still burning sun. I brushed the grass under me before sitting down.

After settling in, I literally dumped my whole bag before finding my folder. I pulled out the math worksheet and stared at all the numbers and equations plastered on it. I frowned at the frail thing. I'm not really a math person but it's due on Monday so I have no choice. I skimmed through the math textbook, hoping to find a ray of knowledge that can seep through my anti-math skull.

I was in the middle of underlining an importantpassage when I felt something's touching ( more like nudging ) my hand which islying on the grass, supporting my weight. I glanced at the mysterious thing. It was a sleek white envelope originating from the opposite side of where I sat, the other side of the tree. I'm a curious person so I grabbed the letter without thinking twice. I ripped open the cover and a parchment fell on my lap. The letter read like this:

Hi there! You look like you need help with your homework. Mind if I helped?

I chuckled before peeking behind me to see who write the message. The sender's a blue eyed teen – same age as I am – with shaggy brown hair, freckles and blue hoodie. He smiled as soon as he saw me.

"You know you can just talk to me in person right? I won't bite." I chuckled and moved my workspace beside him.

"So, what are you working on?" He asked. He then spotted the math worksheet on my hand. "Oh, math."

"Yep. I'm not really a math person. Are you?"

"Not really. But I've already covered this topic back at my school so I guess I can teach you a thing or two." He grabbed a pencil and started tutoring me. It takes a while for all the golden knowledge to seep into my hard skull, but it did eventually. "So, do you get it now?"

"Yep. I can't believe it! I'm actually learning some math! You know, we should hang out some more. I could really use your help to boost my grade. You have a name?"

"Jay, Jay Walker. And yours?"

"Nya, Nya Smith. Where's your school?"

"It's somewhere in the Sea of Sands. I believe it's something called, Savanna High?"

"Oh I've heard about that! That's a very prestigious school."

"Where's yours?"

"The local Ninjago High."

We both spend the afternoon doing the same thing. Exchanging experiences in Savanna High and Ninjago High, eating our leftover lunch, finishing home works after home works until the park became silent. The peace and quiet I've been waiting for. I felt the cool wind brush on my face and the admired the glistening pond beside us.

"Well, that's the last of our homework." Jay yawned.

"Sleepy huh?" I stretched out my legs and pat them twice. "C'mere."

Jay's face turned a bright hue of red. "Wh-what?!"

"It's fine. I don't mind."

"B-but I-uh-I...."

Before he can make any excuses, I pull him towards my outstretched legs. It's a bit tickly but I can handle it. I ruffled his shaggy hair and stare deep into his drowsy – but dreamy – blue eyes. He muttered a word of thanks before dozing off, light shades of pink dusted his cheeks. I bet he's never done this before. The cool air forced my eyes to weaken too. I leaned against the trunk before dozing off myself. They say there's always a calm before a storm. I'd say they're switched. There's always a rainbow after a rain.
