Wishes

This is a Birthday Special by the way since today's my birthday!!! Takes place sometime after Skybound. You can choose your own timing as long as it's after Skybound.

The ninjas sang in unison. And yes, it's Nya's birthday. The ninjas have prepared quite a meal for the celebrations. Kai did the agenda planning, Jay did the lighting, Zane did the food, Cole did the decorations with Lloyd. Master Wu, Misako and Pixal also attended Nya's birthday.

"Thanks a lot you guys." Nya wiped a tear off her face. "You know you don't have to do this. I'll be happy with just a simple wish you know. You don't have to tire yourselves."

"Sh,sh,sh." Kai put a finger on his sister's lips. "This is what we want to do so you can't stop us. Besides, this is quite fun you know. Right?" Kai glanced at the rest for an approving nod which he received immediately.

"According to traditions, it is vital that the birthday individual must extinguish one's candles while wish for something at the same time. It is believed that the said wish will come true."

"Wishes?" Nya raised her eyebrows and her glance fell on Jay's. 

Jay shrugged as a response. "At least it's not Nadakhan." He mouthed.

Nya nodded and blow off the candles. "So, what do you wish for sis?" Kai asks enthusiastically.

"Kai, you know they can't say their wish aloud or their wish won't come true." Cole hit kai on the arm with his elbow.

"Oh yeah, right. Noted." Kai nodded.

"Anyways, aren't you gonna cut the cake?" Lloyd jumped up and down, clearly excited about having an extra sugar consumption.

"Chillax, kiddo." Nya picked up the plastic knife and sliced through the cream filled  and moist dessert. After she transported her share to a paper plate, she scoot aside and smiled a fake smile. "There, happy?"

"Correction, I prefer the term delighted." Lloyd rushed to take a paper plate and plastic spoon before digging in.

Nya chuckled at Lloyd's antics and approached Jay. "Want to share?" She offered, pushing the plate towards Jay while waving a plastic spoon in her other hand.

"Sure." Jay take the spoon and digs in. Nya expected him to eat his share. To her surprise, he shoved the meal into Nya's mouth instead. Which she responded with a giggle before returning the gesture.

After feasting together and exchanging thanks and wishes, the ninjas continued with their plans. Since Nya's birthday happened in the summer, Kai planned on going to a dandelion field for a while. The ninjas are quite excited for this trip. Their only meeting with nature are not so pleasing places. Such as The Toxic Bogs, Hiroshi's Labyrinth, etc.

"Aah, what a beautiful place to calm down and refresh our nerves." Master Wu sighed.

"Indeed Wu, indeed." Misako nodded.

"Hey Nya! Look at what I found!" Cole ran towards the birthday girl, a dandelion in his hand.

"Oh wow, a dandelion. What am I supposed to do with this?" Nya frowned.

"Make wish, duh." Cole rolled his eyes, picked another one and closed his eyes before blowing the seeds off.

Nya copied his gestures identically. She then picked a dandelion for Jay. "Just do it." Nya mouthed. "Everyone's doing it."

Jay shrugged and copied Cole's wishing ritual. Seeing that the birthday girl's pleased, Cole ran off to play around along with the others. "You want to join them? Afternoon's not going to last forever you know." Jay tugged on Nya's hand that's entwined in his. 

"Alright." Nya followed him ran off into the distance.

"The stars are beautiful ain't it?" Jay sighed, staring at the starry sky.

Jay's right. The afternoon doesn't last that long. In a blink of an eye, the pale blue sky is now dark and dusky, dotted with stars and faint planets in the distance. The ninjas are still in the dandelion field. From the forecast earlier, it is predicted that there will be a meteor shower tonight. Although it's the ninjas who planned the activity, they can't stay up late. Master Wu and Misako left early that evening to attend to some things at the library of Domu. The only ones left are Jay and Nya. Both are equally restless and excited for the meteor shower since none have seen one before.

"Yeah." Nya nodded, approving his statement.

"If you see a shooting star, don't forget to close your eyes and wish. It'll come true." Lloyd advised Nya earlier before dozing off on the ground quite peacefully.

"A SHOOTING STAR!" Jay pointed at the distance.

He's right. It seems like the star have lost it's grip on the sky's invisible thread which has held it above for centuries and fell. Nya pretended to close her eyes and make a wish just like Lloyd suggested when Jay's voice shakes her to reality.

"What are you doing?" Jay frowned.

"Wishing." Nya replied, making quote marks on both her hands.

Jay chuckled at Nya's reply. "You know, ever since that incident, I never believed in wishes."

"Same here. Little do they know I never wished for anything at those moments. I'm afraid it might turn against me." Nya shivered.

"Cold, eh?" Jay pulled Nay closer towards him. "Warmer now?"

"Yep, much warmer." Nya snuggled into his hug. "You know, if wishes never attacked us back like the ones with Nadakhan, I'll wish for a bright future with you for sure."

"I'd wish the same." Jay rubbed Nya's arms. "Happy birthday Nya. Welcome to a new age with new challenges and opportunities. But don't worry, I'll try my best to always be by your side." Jay pecked Nya's forehead. "Should we wake up the others?"

"Nah, maybe later." Nya yawned. "If only they knew the dangers of wishes, I bet they'll brought me to Mega Monster Amusement Park instead."
