This takes place before Jay and Nya met. kind of an AU. I didn't want to make this either but...Cole is Nya's current BF. Sorry. I had to.

Nya stared at the picture in her hand. It's a pic of her and her boyfriend, Cole. Although now she doesn't know if she should call him that though. He's been distant lately. He rarely treated her well like he used to. It's like they don't love each other 100% anymore.

The bus stopped and Nya hopped down. She walked a few blocks towards Cole's apartment and climbed up the stairs. The two had planned a movie night earlier. She wished this activity will rekindle their relationship again. Unfortunately, as soon as she opened the door, a horrid sight met her eye. Cole's at the dining table, all fancy and dressed up, with some golden haired girl with her. And they're FLIRTING.

"Cole. Who's this?" Nya pointed to the golden haired girl.

"Nya!" Cole jumped up from his seat. "Oh... uh... this is Vania. Vania Vangelis. A friend." Cole pasted a fake smile on his face.

"Oh really?" Nya crossed her arms. "Does friends call each other cute nicknames? Hmm? ANd have fancy dinner dates?"

"Uh...I...Uh...." Cole stammered.

"I knew it." Nya sighed and rushed to her room to pack up her stuff.

"N-Nya don't be like that. L-like I said, she's just a friend." Cole tried to persuade Nya.

"NO! STOP JUST STOP." Nya tried to force back her tears. "I don't want to hear any excuses. Whatever it is you've broken your loyalty promise a while ago. I knew there was something between us. That's why you've been distant for the past 3 months. I'm sorry Cole but I'm not going back. I'm going to search for some guy NICER than you are. Goodbye Cole."

Nya pull her suitcase and push him away. She knew there's something between them long ago. She has suspected him of this before but at the time, she's confident that Cole wouldn't do something like that. Well her past trauma is right.

Nya leaned against a flickering lamppost outside. Lightning danced in the sky to the rhythm of the thunders and rain soaked her clothes and hair. She closed her eyes and let the tears flow. Down, down, down it went. Suddenly, she realised the rain's not splattering her anymore. She opened her eyes and glanced to her right to see a guy, with auburn hair and freckled face, holding up an umbrella.

"T-thanks." Nya shuffled away from the lamppost and wipe away her tears.

"No problem." The guy answered back. "So, are you okay? Why are you crying?"

"I-it's not a big deal. It's fine."

"No it's not. Tears represents the pain that the mouth can't express. So, what makes you sad?"

Nya sighed. "My boyfriend just cheated on me."

"HE- WHAT?!" The guy gasped.

"It's okay. I expected him to do that. We are kind of distant nowadays."

"Do you still like him?"

"Kind of. I know he's evil to have done that to me but I-I can't picture myself moving on from him."

"It'll take time. It usually does. And while you're moving on, try to convince yourself that you deserve a nice, loyal guy. A guy who won't ditch you off the bus. A guy who cares for you no matter what."

Nya nod slowly. "Thanks. That's a nice advice. By the way, I'm Nya, Nya Smith." Nya pull out her hand for him to shake. "And you are?"

"Jay, Jay Walker." Jay shakes Nya's hand.

Just at that very moment, the local bus pulled up in front of them. Before Nya hop on, she pulled out a black pen and a sheet of torn paper. "May I have your number? I want to get to know you better, you know."

"S-sure." Jay takes the pen and write down his number. "Can't wait to talk to you later. Bye Nya."

"Bye Jay and thanks for the umbrella, the advice and the number. You're such a gentleman." Nya hop on the bus.

She stared at Jay's face which is now red from blushing. She waved one last time at him as the bus began to accelerate speed and Jay disappeared from sight. She sat down on a nearby chair and stared at the phone number. She never knew she would find a replacement this fast. Let's just hope Jay will treat him better than Cole does.
