Set after Skybound

Dilemma. I think you all have been there before. If you haven't lucky you and also you're a superhuman. Nya of course is not exempted from this evil thing called dilemma. A few days ago, Jay planned to go on a date with her to rekindle their relationship and of course she agreed. But now, on the day of the date, she's sick. Not too bad though. Just a moderate fever. She wanted to rest for the day but then she thought about her promise to Jay. She can't bail out now or their relationship might be in trouble. Since it was a moderate fever, how bad can it be if she walked it off?

"Ooo I'm so excited!" Jay jumped up and down. They're now standing at the Mega Monster Amusement park entrance.

"Ch, probably not as bad as I am." Nya scoffed. "Remind me why you're choosing this place again?"

"It's where our first date was Nya, remember?"

"So we're just doing dinner? Or do you want to replay the whole turning into snake thing?"

Jay laughed at his girlfriend's humor. "Sort of. But exclude the turning into snake part. I mean it's been a while since I rode a roller coaster."

Nya's mind suddenly stoped. Roller coaster? Is that even good for people with fever? Even moderate ones? Before she can answer the questions inside her head, she felt a slight tug on her hand.

"Come on Nya. I reserved a seat for us." Jay pulled Nya's hand impatiently.

"Alright Sparky." Nya giggled at his exaggerated excitement.

The two walked past the silly mascot and into the familiar restaurant. Indeed if you remember the two went here for their first date. It wasn't a 100% pleasing memory because well, Jay turned into a snake and The Serpentines got the first fangblade. But still this is the place where they got their first kiss! Well not the restaurant though, the roller coaster. Anyway, The two ate their meals so fast that in a blink Nya found herself on the roller coaster seat, all strapped down.

"Nya, are you okay?" Jay looked at his girlfriend. "You look...pale."

"I'm fine, really. It's probably just a past trauma." Nya pasted a fake smile on her face.

She held Jay's hand tight, hoping it'll reduce the nervousness and stop the banging gong in her head. Sadly, it didn't work. The turns and swirls of the roller coaster not only worsened her condition but also adds a new problem. Queasy stomach. When they're finally on solid ground, Nya felt like a frisbee. She can't stop her head from spinning and pounding. Her eyes are also getting blurry and droopy.

"That was fun isn't it?" Jay jumped up and down, excitedly.

"Hm?" Nya leaned into a nearby pole to support her from falling.

"Are you okay?" Jay asked, rubbing Nya's back.

Nya can only shakes her head. She can't hide anything now. Besides their date's over, right? She finally gives up. The mild and moderate fever has turned into a thumping headache and stomach with turbulence. She tried her best to keep her eyes open but she failed. Her grip on the pole released and she blacked out.

"Nya?"

Nya's eyes opened, just a slit. She saw a blur going back and forth in front of her eyes. She also saw a pair of beautiful, blue eyes. Her eyesight improved and she realised that the blur was Jay's hand and the eyes belong to him too.

"Thank goodness you're awake." Jay sighed a sigh of relief.

"Where am I?" Nya muttered.

"Some bench not far away from the roller coaster."

"What?" Nya looked around her. She suddenly realised that she's actually on Jay's lap, her head's supported by Jay's left hand. She blushed madly. "You know you don't have to!"

"Of course I have to. You fainted in the middle of the road. Besides a gentleman would never let a lady faint in the middle of the road."

"Pfft, Lady?"

"Yeah. You're a lady to me. Anyway what happened back then?"

Nya looked away. She can't answer this one. It might hurt his heart. It might lead him to think that She didn't trust him. Or that she's reckless of her health. Either way it's bad.

"Nya, answer me honestly. What happened back then?" Jay repeated with a stricter note.

"I sort of didn't feel well." Nya mumbled.

"I knew it! I knew taking you to the roller coaster was a bad idea. It brings up your past trauma, of course! I'm sorry Nya, I really am. I'm such a bad boyfriend. I thought it'll be cool if we replicate our first date. But I guess should've considered your situation first before doing something. I'm sorry Nya."

"What?! No Jay you didn't do anything wrong. I was sick from the start."

"You what?! Why didn't you rest?!"

"I made a promise to you remember? I didn't want to destroy our relationship just after it's fixed. Besides it's just a mild fever."

"Mild?! Nya you know things can go worse if it goes untreated like this. So that's why you didn't ate much back then."

"Do you hate me now? Of course you do. What a stupid question. I've just broke your trust right? I get it, I'll just go home right now." Nya squirmed as she tried to escape Jay's arms.

"H-hey don't you dare leave." Jay blocked Nya's exit. "First, I didn't hate you. I never did. I'm just surprised at how you treated your sickness like that. Second, I'm lucky to have a girlfriend like you. Like the way you put off your sickness like that for our date is just, wow."

"I'd do anything for my boyfriend. Even if I have to get shot by a deadly venom."

"In all seriousness please, DON'T-DO-THAT-AGAIN. It's frightening." Jay shivered as he recalled the memories from the alternate timeline.

"Alright, alright. But I can't make any promises."

"Nya, please. You know I can't live without you." Jay whined.

"So am I Sparky. But at times it must be done you know."

"I know. L-let's forget the sad stuff and focus on the happy ones cause I think we forgot one thing that we didn't replicate from our first date."

"What?"

"This." Jay pushed his left arm closer to him as he leaned closer. Their lips met and flutter of butterflies and cool air is felt everywhere. "I hope you don't mind that I started this one and not you." He smiled after he lay down his left arm.

"Not in the slightest Sparky. Can I go down now? I think I'm pressuring your hand too much."

"Not really but your wish is yours to keep water lily."
