Break Up

Before you say it no, I'm not writing about their break up in Rebooted. Just some imaginary break up that happened after The Master of The Mountain happened. Y'know because of the Queen Murtessa thing. Oh and I'm trying something new, using p.o.v.s! I hope you like it. Anyway, let's get to it.

Jay's P.O.V.

Nya's been acting a little weird lately. Ever since we left Shintaro she's been avoiding eye contact for the whole day. Not to mention that death stare he gave me when I climbed aboard. Now after I think about it, I know why she's acting weird. It's me. I might've gave a friendly goodbye kiss on the hand to Queen Murtessa before stepping in. And considering Nya's really overprotective, I shouldn't be surprised. 

Even worse right now's dinner and you know how you can't leave the table until you're finished. This worries me a lot. Why? Oh nothing much it's just that I sat right in front of my angry girlfriend who's munching her food as loud as possible and keep giving me death glares. Call me an overreacting freak but come on. Every death glares equal a stab on my heart by the sharpest knife! I bet the reason she munches her dinner real loud is because she imagine it was my head!

I didn't even chew my dinner. I just swallowed them whole. I don't care if we're having meatballs tonight I just want to escape and slipped into my room. Finally I finished and put the dishes in the sink before rushing back to my room when I felt a tap on my shoulder. And I knew too well to whom the hand belongs to. Dang it, I'm so close!

"Jay, can we speak at the upper deck?" Nya asked, her voice is so cold and harsh. Do I even want to accept? But if I don't then I might make her angrier. I have to face her.

"S-sure." I trembled. "Now?"

"What do you think?" Nya grab a hold of my wrist and pull me towards the upper deck. And her grip's unbearable! I'm not surprised if my hand ever fell off in future trainings. After we reached the upper deck, she finally let go of her grip. And wow her grip is so hard the nail marks are causing bloodshed. "I'm sure you know why I pull you here right?" She crossed her arms.

"Is it about the...uh...Queen Murtessa thing?" I rubbed my wrist, still avoiding eye contact.

"What else do you think?!" She huffed angrily.

"It's a friendly goodbye kiss Nya. A friendly one. It's on the hand remember?" I tried my best to defend myself and to tell her the truth.

"Friends don't kiss each other's hands." Nya said through gritted teeth. "We don't even kiss each other that much and now you're kissing a creature we've just met?!"

"If you want some kisses you can just ask." I mean I don't mind some extra love. I am a helpless romantic after all.

"That's not the point. It's just that-" She paused and walked away to lean on the Bounty's gate or something I forgot what it's called. "Jay, do you ever really love me or was it all an act?"

"Of course I truly loves you Nya I really do. Why would I asked you to be my Yang in the first place?"

"You asking me to be your Yang is in the past. Back then I'm confident the feelings you have for me is real. But now, not so much. And our encounter with the munce clearly doesn't help much. I feel like our love's not...strong enough." 

"Wh-what do you mean not strong enough?" I trembled.

"You know how much we've bond lately. Really rare am I right? And that's what worries me. If these missions keep on going and we spend less and less time with each other, I'm afraid we might drift apart again. And you know as well as I do that I don't want history to happen again and neither do you I'm sure." Nya turned around to face me and pull out something from her jacket pocket. She's not doing what I think she's doing, is she? My thoughts froze as she pull out her yin yang promise. "Jay, I want you to take it and give it to someone else." She pushed the medallion towards me.

"B-but why?" I trembled. I refuse to take that medallion. That thing was meant for her and her only. Why is she giving it up?

"I don't want to do this either but I have to. One of us have to before it's too late. With all these sudden missions and encounters we're bound to break soon and I want to stop it before it's too late."

"By doing the thing you wanted to stop? By breaking up? How's this going to be any better? I love you Nya I really do and always will. Please don't do this."

"How do you know that for certain? We're in a sticky spot Jay. We're bound to do this sooner or later. And just like Cole once said, the sooner you get it over with, the better. And I'd rather do this than still having a romantic connection with you but has a lot of doubts. Please Jay, take it. We're bound to do this in the future anyway. Just take it and fly back to Shintaro and asks Murtessa to be the one. Because I'm not and no longer will." Nya forced my clenched hand open and fit the medallion in it. She then pecked me one last time on the lips. "I love you Jay. I hope Murtessa likes blue."

The memory of our first encounter echoed in my head. That was the first question I asked her when we met. I never knew she still remembers that. I thought she forgotten it already. It's a dumb question anyway. I wipe away my tears and tried to stop her but too late. She already conjure up her water dragon and climbed on.

"Wh-where are you going?" I stammered.

"Somewhere. I just needed to clean my thoughts for a while. Don't worry I promise I'll attend your coronation. I'll miss you Jay." The dragon flaps it's wings and flew off into the distance.

All i can do know is watch. Watch silently as the dragon disappeared into the dark. Just at that very moment, a bolt of lightning accompanied by a roar of thunder strikes the sky, followed by a harsh and cold downpour. I clenched the medallion tightly in my hand. I regret what I did more than ever now. Why? Why in the world did I kiss her? I should've watched my steps. Oh if only I can turn back time and fix it all.
