"how about this one?" you said as you picked up a large orange pumpkin.
"ooo yes, i think i'll get this one," chris said and showed you his pumpkin which was almost bigger than yours.
"should we get some carving tools?" you asked him as you looked at the display.
"yeah sure, we should get some candy corn," chris suggested.
"you like candy corn?" you looked at him.
"you don't?" he said.
"it's like artificial, processed, yucky food," you said.
"i love it!" chris whined.
"you can get it," you give up, almost like a mum when her toddler keeps pestering her about a toy they want.
"thank you!" chris kisses your cheek.
"we should get some decoration for your room," you said and picked up a bunch of orange leaved fairy lights.
"those are cute, oh, how about these?" chris held up some bat fairy lights.
"or both?" you said.
"do i look like i'm made of money," chris put a hand on his hip.
"you look like a million dollars, baby," you said referring to his adam sandler looking outfit.
"mhm," chris said as he pretended to flip his hair.
"that's it, we're leaving," you said and pushed the trolley.
you and chris got home and were too excited to not start carving the pumpkins. halloween was you and chris' favourite holiday, even from when you two were younger.
"what are you gonna do with yours?" you asked chris.
"it's a secret, can we do it separately and then show each other at the end?" he asked.
"yeah of course," you said and the two of you began to carve out the top of the pumpkin to take the flesh out.
soon enough the two of you were done. "you finished now?" you asked chris.
"just some final touches," he said and stuck his tongue out as he focused on his pumpkin. "voila!"
"it's actually really good," you laughed.
"what did you think it was going to be bad?" chris said, acting offended.
"kinda yeah," you giggle. you were then met with the gross slimy feeling of pumpkin seeds and flesh all over your top. "christopher!"
"oops."

"so either nightmare before christmas or corpses bride," you said.
"both," chris said.
"hm okay," you said and grabbed the bowl of popcorn.
"wait pause!" chris said which almost made you jump.
"what?" you turned to him.
"we forgot the matching pyjamas and fluffy socks," chris said.
"oh shit, let's go change," you said and the two of you went to go put on the matching halloween themed pyjamas you bought from target.
"perfect," chris said as he did a little spin to show his outfit.
"you look cute," you smile and walked up to him.
"you look even cuter," he kissed the tip of your nose.
"you should brush your teeth soon," you fake gagged.
"you're so rude," chris said.
"you know i love you," you said and wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him in for a kiss.
