Demi's POV

"Please give me an idea! I actually have no idea where we are." I whined to my girlfriend while sitting in the back seat. Gracie was in the passenger seat with Carson driving.

"It's called a surprise for a reason." Carson said.

"I know. But I've never been to Michigan, so it'll still be a surprise because I've never been here before. So tell me."

"Actually, that's not true. You came to Michigan in 2009, 2012, 2015, 2018, 2022, and coming back in 2025 for your newest tour. You've been to Michigan." Gracie said, looking at me through the rear view mirror. I narrowed my eyes in at her, wildly attracted to her knowing little details about me.

"Okay, at least I'm starting to see some civilization. We were on that road with no sign of human life for 7 hours." I said, looking out the window.

"It was literally 38 minutes. It takes 44 minutes to get from that gas station where we stopped to where we are going."

Gracie reached her hand back, placing her hand on my lower leg, caressing my skin.

"Being able to go into that gas station without people recognizing me is gonna be in my top favorite memories. It was so fun being able to take my time looking at all the junky foods and snacks and being with you two." I said, enjoying Grace's hand on my leg.

"We're in the boonies right now. Where we are going is such a small northern Michigan town, there's a slight chance younger people will know you, but we all know each other and we all grew up coming here, so I don't think they'll mess with you too much."

"Gracie?" I questioned, which made her look back at me. "Will you come sit back here?"

She giggled, continuing to look at me. "We're like four minutes away!"

I just pouted out my bottom lip, making eye contact with her.

"Fuck. Fine. Carson, stop the car for two seconds."

Carson sighed, pulling over on the side.

"Can't you two break up again or something? The love sick thing is annoying." He laughed, looking at Gracie climb in the back seat.

"Do you really want to experience me again without Demi? Remember the first time?" Gracie sat down, hitting Carson's arm.

I felt a ting of guilt in my chest, still amazed at myself for doing what I did.

I put my hand on her thigh, giving it nice squeeze and started to caress her thigh. I just looked at her, making contact with those deep green eyes.

"Are you gonna kiss me or what?"

Gracie leaned in, capturing my lips in hers, and I smiled against her lips.

We finally pulled into a long drive way, nothing but land and trees surrounding the pavement. We made our way back, revealing the most gorgeous three story log cabin. My jaw dropped, taking in how beautiful this house is.

"Welcome to my favorite place." Gracie said with a smile.

"Our favorite place." Carson added. "Welcome to your weekend in East Tawas."

He parked the car and we got out, Gracie grabbing both of our bags. We made our way inside, met with her parents and Kai sitting in the living room. Kai ran up to me, giving me the biggest hug per usual.

"Can I show you around, Demi?" His sweet voice asked me, interlocking our fingers.

"Of course, buddy! Show me everything."
