Act IV
It was now the early morning of the fifth day, and the moon was shining through a window and onto the tiled floor. Barely any of our protagonists slept, and the ones that did were plagued with horrific nightmares of their skin burning off.
Georgina awoke and shivered. It was cold on this side of the prison, which was surprising considering that a fire had gone through nearly half of it only 15 hours prior. Georgina noticed that no smoke had gone through the doors. She wondered if anyone on the male side had put out the fire.
And Georgina was right. Mara had recovered (as much as she could, there were still a few bugs in her circuits from the blast of the explosion) and had put out the fire to the best of her ability with her high powered fans that she could pop out in a whim.
The entire male side of the prison now reeked of burning flesh, but Mara didn't mind. She didn't have a sense of smell like the rest of humanity does. There were still survivors of course on the male side, considering both sides of the prison were large. They were all hiding away in various locked rooms to stay safe.Theo awoke to his own screams. Teddy Bear was right by his side, and hugged him. "It's okay, we're alive." Teddy said. Theo shook his head. "I-It's not that. I had a dream that Rush was hurting me again." He cried. Teddy realized he had forgotten to inform Theo about what he had done to Rush. He had been in full survival mode, and once he was safe, he had fallen asleep.
"Rush won't be hurting you ever again, Theo. I killed him." Teddy said matter of factly. A look of shock crossed Theo's face, but that shock slowly turned into relief and satisfaction. "Good." Theo said, grinning.
Deena was listening in. "Who all died?" She asked Teddy. Teddy looked at her and shrugged. "I know that Rush is dead, and I saw Snow White with her brains blown out." He said. Deena felt her stomach drop. "I just hope Ramos is alive." She mumbled. Ramos seemed to be the only person that had understood her hatred towards Skinner.
"By the way guys, I think I should fill you in on that "robo-bitch" that's been killing everyone. I remember reading about her in an article a couple of years ago. Her name is Mara, which stands for Mass Annihilation, Ruin All. Her goal is to kill all of us." Roman said.
Roman Cook was experienced in technology and especially technological advancements in the last few years. "Why the hell is a robot in here with us?" Miguel asked. "The president is the one who proposed this entire battle Royale scenario because of overpopulation, correct?" Roman asked. Everyone nodded. "There's no way in hell that the president would let a bunch of convicted prisoners be set free into the real world. They most likely sent Mara in here to kill all of us so that none of us survive, and the president can twist it as no one being able to survive a week in a hellhole like this." Roman said.
Sidney felt sick. "What can we do to stop this?" She asked Roman. Roman shrugged. "As of now, I don't know, but I'm gonna continue brainstorming ideas in the hopes that we can somehow beat this." He said.
"Even if we do manage to find a way to stop Mara, there's no guarantee that we'll be allowed to live once we do get out of here." Deidre said. Roman nodded. "I'm with you." He said.
