Skinner wasn't sleeping. Roach slept just fine though. Skinner's mental state had already been on a decline, but the events of the last two days had only further intensified the decline and made her mental state deteriorate at a rate it never had before.
Skinner now felt like this was all in her mind. She was a bad, bad person and this was her punishment. Roach wasn't real, no one was anymore. She was in hell for what she did to her cheating husband. Skinned him, yes, skinned em up real good.
Roach was nothing more than a guardian Angel, or demon, inside Skinner's delusional mind. Roach wanted to make sure that Skinner would pass the test, and maybe ensure that she dies and suffers like everyone else did.
Maria Ortiz had been her savior, now that Skinner thought of it. If Maria hadn't skinned half of her face and horrifically injured her, she would be dead right now alongside Arias and many others. Skinner thanked Maria, and Maria didn't respond, of course.
Roach stayed behind because she wanted to stay alive with me to make sure I pay, Skinner thought to herself. Fuck her. The only way I can escape is by doing something about it. Skinner thought yet again.
She looked oh so vulnerable sleeping. Skinner could easily slit her thro- No. no. She couldn't do that yet. It had to be the perfect timing. If she failed then Roach would finish Skinner off.
Skinner knew her time was coming, very very soon. Someone was gonna skin her a new one. Someone she had hurt. She had hurt Roach by even thinking of hurting her. By doing the bad things she had done. Oh yes. Very bad. Very bad things, indeed.
Roach suddenly woke up and coughed, before looking at Skinner. She had her eyes shut, pretending to sleep. Roach acknowledged this and fell back to sleep. She had to make sure Skinner was safe. After all, Roach thought Skinner would do the same for her.
