3.11 Battle of Wills

I wasn't surprised when Jake didn't come home. We all knew he would stay up there even though he was told to come back as soon as she was there with her leech. Embry wrapped his arms around me as we laid in my bed. "When this is over I think we all need a vacation." Embry said, making me nod my head. I sighed as I felt like something bigger was coming and Jake would drag us into it. I rolled over so Embry and I were face to face. I leaned up and kissed him. I didn't want to think about what was coming tomorrow or down the road. I just wanted to live in the now. Embry responded how I knew he would. All too willing to give in to our teenage hormones. But I couldn't say I was disappointed in any of it. I loved Embry and Embry loved me. That was what mattered. But I also knew once our moment was over reality would be ready for us.

And boy was it. It was like time flew and it was time for the battle with the newborns. I stood outside my family's home just staring at it. "Hey everything will be alright!" I heard Rachel say as she loaded up her car. I nodded my head but I wasn't sure that was ture. Something was going to happen today other than this battle. Someone was going to be hurt. I just hoped it wasn't a member of the pack.

"Yeah! I know. The pack is strong and we will look out for each other. Like we have been." I said as she wrapped her arms around me.

"I will see you and Paul and even our asshole brother after the baby leeches are all dead. Emily and I will have a big dinner waiting for you all." She said and I did my best to give her a real smile. She kissed my head before heading over to Paul and kissing him. "Look out for her. Something is off. We all feel it." I heard her say.

"Don't worry about her. The pack has her back. You know we will all look out for her. And we will all be back soon." He said as Embry wrapped his arms around me.

"Everything will be fine." Embry said before kissing my head. My father was taking Charlie out for the day to keep him away from his house as he would be killed first since bell's scent is all over his house. I wasn't happy about that but my father said it would be fine and that they would be safe here.

"Julia..." My father called from the door. I looked at him and sighed. I walked over to him and hugged him. "Take care of yourself and protect the pack. Even your brother." He said and I nodded my head. "I love you Julia Nichole." He said and I gave him a sad smile.

"Love you dad!" I said as he held me a little tighter. When he let go I could see the hurt in his eyes that he would not get to tell Jake that he loved him. "He knows dad." I said as I was trying my best to ease my father's hurt. It seemed to work.

When we arrived at the pack house Seth was shoving down food. I shook my head as I didn't like the idea of sending Seth up the mountain. But Jake made a clear point that Edward would need to know what was going on and the only way to do that was to have one of us up there with them. Bella wanted me but I refused as I wasn't going to sit out and not help. I told her that I wasn't her leech and that I would let anyone tell me what to do. That I wouldn't let my family fight my battle while I hide like a scared little boy. They were both taken back by that and I smirked. When he realized that was what Bella was doing to him. She had made him choose between his family and her. She of course frowned at me. I didn't even realize that we were close to the battle field until Embry nudged me with his snout. I looked at him and cocked my head.

'Where did you go... We have been calling your name for 45 minutes.' Embry said through our mind link. I was shocked by this. I must have been deep in thought. But I couldn't remember what it was I was thinking about after seeing Seth leave to take over for my brother.

"It's Time." The leader said as we all moved into possession. Sam nodded at me as I walked up next to him.

'You good?' He asked and I nodded my head. He nodded his and we waited for our que. We wanted all of them in the field before we showed ourselves. We didn't want them to run, we wanted them to stay and fight. When we got the single Sam and I were the first ones in the fight. I let a few think I was hurt and let them conor me. Sam, Paul, Jared and the big Cullen Took out four of the six. I took out one before feeling a sharp pain in my side. I turned to see the last one had punched me. I growled but Jake beat me to him. Jake looked at me and nodded.

'You alright?' He asked and I nodded my head. 'Good there are still more!' He said before taking off after one that was trying to run. I felt a little weak but pushed past it. I tried to hold back a whimper when Embry came and pushed against me.

'Jules?' He asked and I shook my head.

'I am fine.' I said and he shook his head. I knew he could tell I wasn't ok.

'Your hurt!' he yelled and this got the pack to chime in.

"I am fine! Let's just finish this.' I commanded as I didn't want them worried about me when we still have newborns to take care of.
