It had been two weeks and no one had heard from my twin brother. Two weeks that I haven't slept more than a few hours at a time if I sleep at all. I was sitting on the beach just looking at the wave Sam had the pack on high alert since Carlisle let it slip that a coven was after Bella. And they were one of the oldest ones they had. I sighed as I picked up a rock and threw it towards the water. Bella had come by a week ago with her father saying the wedding was back on. I scoffed and commented how pathetic Edward was to stay with her lying cheating ass. This resulted in Charlie and my father yelling at each other and Bella crying.
"You know you look like shit!" I heard someone say. I growled as I turned around. Only to come face to face with my twin. Mt twin that ran away. My asshole twin that abandoned me.
"Jake!" I whispered as I got up and ran to him. I wrapped my arms around him. Even though I was mad at him I still missed and worried about him. He was still my brother after all.
"Sorry..." He said as he held me close. "I should have listened to you. You were right about her all along." He said as I just started to cry. He held me tighter. "I'm home now." He whispered and I just nodded my head as I let my tears fall. We stayed like that until I was able to claim myself down. When we moved a part it hit him. "Awe... What was that for?" He asked as he rubbed his chest.
"That was for being an ass and leaving. Do you know how worried you made us?" I yelled and hit him again. "I worried I was?" I yelled and tried to hit him again but he caught my hand.
"I know I am sorry. I should have checked in. But I needed this time. I needed to sort out everything that was going through my head." He said and I nodded my head. "But you were right about her. I went through every conversion and they were all about her and what I could give her. She never cared about me. She was looking out for herself." He said and I sighed.
"I am sorry..." I said and he just smiled at me.
"There is no need to be sorry... You were being a good sister. Trying to protect me." He said and I started to cry again. "Hey none of that now. I think you have cried enough over me." He said and I looked at him confused. "I taped in every once and awhile. I would hear you talking to me. Asking me to come home." He said and I frowned at him. "But I had to come to terms with everything that was in front of me, everything I didn't want to face." He said and I nodded my head. "Lets sit." He said as we both took up a spot on the beach.
"I want to first tell you how sorry I am for what I did to you and Embry. It was so wrong. I know it doesn't make up for anything. But I am sorry. I guess I was afraid I would lose not only you but one of my best friends as well. In the end I did. But worse, I left you both heart broken." He said and I shook my head.
"Embry and I have moved past that. We are stronger now." I said and Jake smiled at me.
"I am happy to hear that. You two were made for each other." He said and I smiled. I could feel Embry in the back of my mind. No doubt checking to make sure I was ok.
'Babe... Are you ok?' He asked and I smiled.
'I am fine. Just talking to Jake.' I said back to him. He sighed as he thought I was mind linking him. 'No Embry... I am talking to him at the beach.' I said and he went silent. I knew he was talking with the rest of the pack. I knew it wouldn't be long before they showed up here.
"Get ready, the pack will be here soon." I said and he frowned at me. "Sorry!" I said as I started to stand up. Just as Jake did, the pack emerged from the woods. I could see their smiling faces.
"Damn it is good to see your ugly face." Embry said as he hugged my twin. He moved over to me and kissed me. 'Thought you were going to try and sleep?" He said and I shrugged my shoulders. "You need to sleep, Jules." He said as I sighed and wrapped my arms around his waist.
"Why hasn't she been sleeping?" Jake asked as he looked at me confused. I shook my head and he sighed. "Because of me." He said and pulled me into his arms. "I am sorry... I never meant for this." He said and I nodded my head. I could feel my eyes growing heavy and I knew that I was about to pass out. Embry new as well. He grabbed me and picked me up.
"Yeah time for bed!" He said and started to walk away from the pack. "You need to sleep!" He said as he kissed my head. I sighed and rested my head on his chest.
"You know she is going to be around now that Jake is home." I said and Embry growled. I knew that as soon as I saw him that she would show her face around her again. I closed my eyes and sighed as I let Embry's warm body wrap around me. When I woke up the sun was just rising. I heard Embry groan as I moved. "Baby... Go back to sleep." He grumbled as he tried to pull me back to bed. I sighed and let him wrap his arms around me. But I laid there awake.
The Storm is coming and we need to be ready for whatever comes our way!
