I shook my head as Sam called me back to patrol. I hated that it had to be this way. I hated that Jake turned his back on us. On his family. On our pack. Our people! I stood watch with Quil and Jared. They were in their wolf form as I was in my human form. The rest of the pack was around the rest of the property. I heard Jared chuckle when Jake came limping out with Edward. "We only want to talk!" Edward said, but Jared and Quil moved closer to me. As none of us were sure what Jake was capable of anymore!
"Nothing to talk about!" I said as I smiled over at Jake. "Your hour is up! Been up for a while now!" I said and Jake sighed. "Packs will be here soon!" I said and this made Edward mad.
"She doesn't need to do this. My child isn't a danger to anyone! We could all live in peace." He said and I laughed.
"It isn't just about your... monster!" I said, making Jake growl at me and Edward hiss. I smirked as Jared and Quil growled at them. "Careful Jake! Jules has made it a point that she will be the one to not only kill you and the thing but Bella as well!" I said and Jake looked at me shocked.
"Is that what you want?" Jake asked and I just smiled at him. Quil chuckled as Jared gave him a wolfie smile. "I mean really Embry... Is this what you want? You and Quil are my best friends and now I am your enemy?" He said and I shook my head.
"What I want is for you to pay for your actions. You betrayed us! And all for what?" I asked as Jake looked down at the ground. "For your whore!" I said, making Edward hiss and crouch down like he was going to attack me. "I meant your wife Edward!" I said, making Edward look at me shocked.
"My wife isn't a whore!" He said and I laughed even harder.
"Whatever you say, dude!" I said with a mock salute. "I do have a question! If any of you make it out of this alive. How are you going to tell that little monster that you and it's mother used to fuck?" I asked and Jake looked embarrassed. "I mean that right there would be an ender for me. But then again this is Jake!" I said as I watched their every move. "OH! You should tell your family that there is no way out! I saw three of them leaving a moment ago." I said as I pointed to the woods behind the house! I smirked as Edward got on the phone.
"Get back now!" He said and not a moment later three more were standing in front of us.
"The pack has orders to kill any and all of you that leaves! Since your hour was up!" I said as I rocked back on my heels. Edward looked shocked as the others looked at him annoyed. I smiled even more when I felt Jules getting closer!
"How are you feeling Jake?" She asked with a cute smirk. Jake looked at her shocked.
"Jules..." She whispered as she approached us. "Please stop this! She won't harm anyone!" He said but this made Jules scoff.
"The monster isn't the reason for the packs coming together!" She said as she stepped even closer to them. I growled at her in warning. "Bella is the danger now! Well her and them!" She said as she pointed to the Cullens clan. "Pity you had to pick the wrong side again!" She said and this made us all confused. All of us except for Jake. He shook his head at her. "How far are you willing to go?" She asked but Jake just looked at her with pleading eyes. I noticed Edward looked at her confused before he looked annoyed!
"Jules, I am begging you to please stop this!" Jake said as he took a step closer. "If you would have let me explain then you would have understood." He said as Jules just smiled at him.
"So explain! Explain how turning your back on your family, your friends, your people and the pack was ever going to be ok! With me or any of us?" She said as she took another step closer to Jake.
"Please Jules! You don't get it! I don't think you ever could." Jake said, taking yet another step closer to her. Jared, Quil and I stepped closer in case he tried anything.
"Jake!" Edward said as we all noticed her was over the property line. He tried to grab Jake but Jules was quicker. I jammed the needle in his neck and he was out. She let him fall to the ground with a thud.
"Sorry Edward! But my brother won't be a part of your problems! You should have never gotten him involved!" She said and this confused me. "But then again if it helps you!" She said and this made the pack growl at them.
"Edward what did you do?" The leader asked and this made Edward even more annoyed as he sent a glare his way.
"Nothing any of you wouldn't have done to keep your family safe." He hissed as he glared at Jules.
"You might have convinced him but not enough to truly betray his family!" Jules growled as her eyes turned that elect blue. "Be Careful Edward. You won't win this battle." She said as she nodded off to someone. It was Paul and Sam. They came walking up and picked up Jake. Paul sent a cocky smirk over to Edward.
"You never should have threatened their sister! Now your clan's death is all on you!" He said as He helped Sam carry Jake away. That was when it all clicked. Why, they were all talking in hush voices. Why Jules seemed to be more pissed and ready to fight. Jake was able to block out Jules when he was awake but if he was asleep she could break through those walls and see what she needed.
"I would take this as your only out!" Jules said to the leader. "Since you aren't the ones we have a problem with!" She said before turning and walking away. "OH! And Edward, There is a pack where Rebecca is! And they have been notified of your plans!" She said as she smiled over at me and took my hand . "Let's go home." She said and all I could do was nod my head at her.
