I was excited that Jules and I were finally getting a night out. Will kind of, it was with Paul and Rachel, Jared and Kim and Jake would be joining us with a friend. I rolled my eyes as I knew he would be bringing Quil with him. But to my surprise it was Katlynn. A girl we have known since we were little. She was also Quil's cousin by marriage. I looked at Jules as she talked to Rachel and Kim. They seemed to not notice that Jake and Katlynn had joined our group as they talked about the next bonfire.
"Umm... Jake?" Jared said as we looked from Jake to Katlynn. She looked at us nervous and Jake looked a little scared.
"Oh! Hey Katlynn!" Jules said as they joined our group again.
"Hey, Jules! Rachel, Kim!" She said as she gave them a small wave. She looked over at us again and frowned.
"You know Embry, Paul and Jared, right?" Rachel asked and Katlynn nodded her head.
"Yeah!" She said as she moved closer to Jake. Who wrapped an arm around her.
"Can, I talk to you guys!" Jake asked and nodded his head to the other side of the road.
"We will get a table!" Rachel said with a small frown at the rest of us. "Be nice!" She whispered to Pual before kissing his cheek. Jules gave me a pointed look. Letting me know to do the same. Kim smacked Jared's arm and pointed at him. Before she pulled Katlynn into the restaurant.
"So what's up?" I asked as Jake gave us a goofy grin.
"Look! I know I haven't been the best pack member with all the shit I have started and caused due to Bella and the leeches.!" He said as he looked down at the ground.
"Not to mention that bitch you brought home." Paul said as he glared at Jake.
"Yeah, that too. Look, I am so sorry about her. I don't know what I was thinking! But Katlynn and I are the real deal!" He said and we all looked at him confused. "Jules was even there when it happened."He said and we were unsure about what he meant.
"There for what?" I asked and he just smiled at me.
"When I imprinted on Katlynn." He said and I was shocked. Paul and Jared didn't look convinced.
"Yeah! Ok!" Paul said as he started to walk away.
"I mean it!" Jake said with a sigh. "She doesn't know about the pack or anything yet. As I didn't want to bring her into this until we knew what was going to happen but Jules thought I should at least tell all of you." He said and I scoffed at him.
"So you crashed our date night to introduce us to her?" Jared asked as Paul still didn't look convinced.
"It's not like that. I want you all to see why I have been able to have a backbone with Bella and the leeches. I see now just how wrong I was. Katlynn is that reason. She is everything to me!" He said as he ran his hands down his face.
"And Jules knew about all of this?" Paul asked and Jake nodded his head. "But didn't say anything to any of us?" He asked and Jake nodded again.
"He wanted to get to know her. Build a relationship with her." We heard Jules say. We all turned to look at her. "I agreed as long as he didn't hurt her for Bella." She said as she moved next to me. "I also made him show me what he saw!" She said with a sly smirk.
"Yeah! Thanks for that! I shouldn't have to prove myself or my imprint. But I get it. I fucked up before! And you wanted to make sure that this time was real." He said and we all nodded our heads at him.
"Jake!" We heard someone scream before a small body wrapped its arms around his legs. He pushed it away and we saw that it was Bella and Edward's little monster.
"What the fuck! Get away from me!" He yelled as he stepped away from it. Bella frowned at him as she walked over to us.
"Jake, is that any way to talk to or treat your mate?" Edward asked as Paul and Jared backed up ready to run to the other imprints.
"That thing isn't shit to me! And neither are you!" Jake growled as he started to shake. Bella pouted at him as he pointed at her.
"Jake lets go! They aren't worth our time!" Jules said as she grabbed his arm.
"Yeah! You're right they aren't!" He said as Paul and Jared had already made it into the restaurant.
"Wait, Jake..." It called out but Katlynn and the others were already walking out with Paul and Jared. "Who is that?" It asked as Jake opened his arms for Katlynn to walk into.
"His mate!" Jules hissed as I pulled her away from them. Bella and the monster looked pissed.
"Jake?" Bella asked as she took a few steps into the street. "Please tell me you didn't!" She asked and I just smiled as I saw it in both of Jake's and Katlynn's eyes. "Jake we are leaving!" Bella said and Katlynn just scoffed at her.
"Jake's with me now! So back the fuck off! Don't you have a husband or something?" Katlynn yelled, making the rest of us laugh. Bella looked at her annoyed but that turned to anger real quick.
"Well she has a backbone that is forsure!" Paul said and Rachel laughed.
"Good he needs someone who is strong!" Jules said and I agreed with her.
"Please... You don't know Jake like I do!" Bella said and this seemed to piss Katlynn off.
"You might be right. But I am not looking for someone to use like you did. I like him, for him. Inside and out!" Katlynn said as she stepped away from Jake. Jake stopped her and shook his head. "But in the end I will know him better as he is my boyfriend. And what were you again?" Katlynn asked, pissing Bella off even more. So much so that she grabbed her little monster's hand and walked away from us. Edward sent us all a glare before he turned to Katlynn.
"Be Careful! You don't know what they are!" Edward said as Katlynn just laughed at him.
"They are better than you leech!" She said and we all looked at her wide eyes.
