I shook my head as Embry and Paul were play fighting. "Dude, that fight sense sucked." Quil said as he picked Clara up. Sam had given the guys the day off to go and watch some movie they had all been wanting to see. Sam, Jake, Leah and I stayed behind to run patrol. It had been months and the Cullens still hadn't left. Something about their house not selling. I call bull shit on that one.
"They made it look like it was going to be this awesome movie but it sucked!" Jared said as he plopped himself down next to Kim.
"Worst 10 bucks ever spent!" Paul said as Embry walked over to me. I smiled up at him as he leaned down and kissed my head.
"Hey baby!" He said as soon as he sat down and wrapped his arm around me. "Anything happen around here?" He asked and I shook my head.
"Naw!" I said as I looked out at the wood. Sam and Jake were still out. Leah left as our shift was over and she hated being around all of us still. My heart went out to her.
"They still out?" He asked and I nodded my head. "You know Sam would call if anything was wrong!" He said and I nodded my head again. But I still felt like something wasn't right. "You want to head to the diner and get some food?" He whispered into my ear. I smiled and nodded my head at him. He smiled and stood, grabbing my hand as he went. "Hey we are leaving!" He said as he pulled me out of the pack house. He didn't wait for anyone to say anything. When we got into his car he sighed. "Finally got you to myself!" He said as he took my hand again and kissed it. I couldn't stop the smile that came across my face. But our moment was ruined again as Sam and Jake stood in the roadway. I huffed and crossed my arms.
"What now!" I yelled as I rolled down the window. Jake looked pissed as Sam looked annoyed. I noticed Jake shaking so I got out of the car. "What happened?" I asked as I slowly approached my brother. I could feel the anger rolling off of him. Embry pulled me back and stood in front of me.
"Calm down Jake!" Embry yelled as Jake took a step closer to me. I watched as my brother took a deep breath and the shaking started to slow. But not enough to stop his shift it he didn't rain in his temper more.
"Get back to the house!" Sam said as we looked at him confused. But did as he asked. We made it back before them and everyone looked at us confused.
"Thought you two were going to dinner?" Rachel said and I shook my head.
"Yeah! Something happened. Jake and Sam should be here soon!" Embry said as he took his seat at the table. I stood behind him as we waited for Sam and Jake. It wasn't 5 minutes later that Leah, Sam and Jake showed up.
"What's going on Sam?" Paul asked as he moved Rachel closer to me. As Jake was still shaking.
"We had a run in with Edward." Jake said with a scoff. It was clear that this run in was the reason for his foul mood.
"OK!" Jared said as he was hoping someone would explain more.
"Guess the little Monster got attached to Jake." Sam said as he too was keeping an eye on Jake. "Guess she thinks he is her mate!" He said and I started to laugh! Jake looked at me annoyed before he too started to laugh.
"What is so funny?" Quil asked as everyone watched us. But before either of us could answer Rachel was laughing as well.
"They are still at it!" Rachel got out before Jake or I. "Does she not see how crazy this all is?" She asked as I finally was able to stop laughing.
"OH! No! Bella Swan only cares about herself and what she can get out of life." I said as and almost everyone nodded their heads in agreement with me. "So what else did the leech have to say?" I asked as I looked over at Jake. I wanted him to tell me.
"That I needed to think long and hard about how I wanted my life to turn out. That they could give me more and that I would be able to have a better life with them." He said and Sam nodded at what he was saying. I didn't know why but I felt better after knowing that he was telling me the truth.
"What were they wanting from you?" Quil asked as all eyes went to my brother. He shifted from foot to foot.
"I guess the thing was demanding that I come back to them and be with her. Edward of course didn't look happy and from what we got out of him Bella has been dissent with it." Jake said and I frowned at him. "Edward wants to have another meeting. With just Jules and I." He said and that earned her a few growls.
"That is not happening!" Embry shouted as he stood up in front of me. I know why he was against it as he didn't fully trust my brother. No one really did.
"Agreed. That is why, Paul, Jared and you will be there with us!" Jake said as he looked at Embry a little hurt. "I know I have done a lot of damage and it isn't going to be fixed overnight." He said and Embry just nodded his head.
"When and where are we meeting them?" Jared asked as he leaned on the table.
"In one hour. Same spot as last time." Sam said and Jared just nodded his head.
"Who is going to be there?" I asked. Jake looked at me and smirked.
"Just Bella, Edward and the thing!" He said and I nodded my head.
"I don't trust them." I said as I looked at Sam. He nodded his head. "Paul stays behind." I said and Paul growled in protest. I held my hand up for him to stop. "Jake, Jared, Embry and I will go to the meeting." I said as I turned to Paul. "I would feel a whole lot better if you were here looking after our people. If this is some form of set up. Sam is going to need your help." I said but he still looked upset. But he nodded his head at me.
"You are one of the better fighters!" Rachel said and I agreed with her. He nodded his head again. But we all knew he didn't like to be left behind.
