The Kid Next Door

Chapter 7

Liliila couldn't hold a seat for me in class, so she ended up sitting next to a cheerleader. I had to sit next to the new kid, which ironcally, was her uncle. It must been weird for Liliia to go to school with her uncle and be the same age as them. They had the same skin and facial features, but unlike Liliila, he had soft brown hair and eyes. He seemed very shy, shy as in he hasn't made a sleazy move on me since I'd say next to him. Finally, a boy with a little bit more than getting laid on his mind.

I better focus. Carlisle's gonna have a hissy fit if I don't focus in class. The last thing I need is another lecture about being a good student. Another way for me to feel like the bad child. The boy next to me took out his notebook.

I looked at the name on the right corner of the paper. Seth, that was his name. Interesting name, but who am I to talk? My name's Bree, short for Breeanna. Messed up right? I would kill my mother for giving me such an idiotic name if I knew where she was.

Seth was kinda buff. Not like "I pick things up, I put things down" kinda buff, but kinda muscular for his age. Some of the other girls were giving him the eye. I wonder if he'll try out for any sports teams, most boys do. It was then when I realized I was looking right at him.

"Ummm. Hi." He says.

"What?" I jump. I didn't think he noticed my staring.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you. It's just... You were kinda glaring at me."

"I was? Sorry. It's reflex."

"It's fine, just kinda scary." He laughed without humor and turned back to the board. We were gonna be learning about Shakespeare this month. Great. Just what I need. Reading.

Seth seemed rather excited. He wasn't exactly jumping up and down, but it was pretty darn close. He kept fidgeting in his seat, trying to hide his almost smile. What kind of person was excited about reading?, she thought. Most guys were excited about sports. You could tell by the way they screamed, FOOTBALL! at each other when talking about a game the night before. Seth seemed oddly different, and in this town, that can get you killed.
