Its Not a Date

Chapter 17

Bree wanted this next date to work, although she would never admit it. She was beginning to enjoy Seth's company, although he saw their relationship a different way. She saw him in school the next day and waved. She knew he felt bad about the bummer date, but she knew he would go all out for the next one. She didn't want to admit it, but she was beginning to like Seth. And he could see that.

"I'm telling you, people actually died on set of Poltergeist." Seth said to me.

"No way. It was probably a publicity stunt."

"I'm so serious. Accidents happened. They say that the movie itself was haunted."

"What a bunch of losers. If they died, it was by coincidence."

"Ok. Just never become an actress. I wouldn't want to see you die in a horror film accident."

"Yeah, whatever."

We took our seats in English class. The teacher turned around to the class and spoke.

"Don't forget your English projects are due soon. They count for a huge portion of both your grades. Meet up with your partners and begin breaking it down chapter by chapter. I'm allowing you to start in class. Now, work." Seth turned to me.

"How far into the book did you read?"

"I read the first five chapters. How far did you read?"

"The first 10."

"Your a nerd, you know that right?" Seth smiled.

"Yeah I do. Well, lets compare notes on chapter 1 and continue from there." Me and Seth only got as far as chapter 4 because I kept arguing with him over Romeo and Juliet's future stupidity in killing themselves in the story. He claimed it was a sacrifice for love, I said these idiots just have heir heads screwed on too tight. Seth laughed at my logic and I laughed along. He's a very chill person.

"Wanna come over for dinner?"

"We've been on one date and your already acting like we're dating."

"Well, technically we are."

"I can't. I have chapters to read, remember? I need to catch up with your ass."

"Your unnecessary use of profanity is astounding. And you still so owe me 4 more dates remember?"

"Fine. You win. What time?"

"9."

"Why so late?"

"Because my mom and my sister will be out of the house by then." Alone time with Seth? That ought to be interesting.

"Why do you want you family gone when I come over?"

"Because my sister knows that your a vampire and I don't want her I know we're dating. And my mom is really embarrassing."

"Oh."

"Why else did you think I wanted them out of the house?"

"No reason." Seth thought for a moment.

"Wait.. You didn't think...."

"Yeah kinda."

"I have way more class then to sleep with you on a second date."

"I know I just kinda thought...."

"That I'm a man whore."

"No."

"Then what were you thinking?"

"Nothing. Ok. Just drop it."

"Bree."
